Cricketers that don't like each other

I've heard it said that Joel Garner retired from international cricket because he didn't want to be captained by Viv Richards. Dunno if that's true.

.
Never heard that one before and i doubt if this one is true as they both played for SUSSEX(am i right with sussex?) together for quite a time...and when club didnt re new Joel's contract in 86, Viv stepped out and also influenced Ian Botham to quit with him!

Lancashire and Ganguly (though Atherton said that it was basically just the Lancashire lads not liking Ganguly's absence at the pub).

Ranatunga didn't get on with the English or the Australians.

Gavaskar and Australia.

Sreesanth and the world, or perhaps it's really the world and Sreesanth...

Harbhajan and everyone except Yuvraj.

Stuart Macgill and many of his national team mates.

Kim Hughes had a pretty torrid time of it from Lillee and Chappell by the sounds of things though they're all happy chums now. Read a great story about Lillee bouncing Hughes in the nets and then apologising, Hughes replied it's OK, then Lillee retorted "sorry it didn't hit your f***ing head".

Greg Chappell and Kolkata.

Brian Lara and his team mates.

John Bracewell and the world.

The papers are often playing up a rivalry between Flintoff and KP for the spotlight and reportedly after the Mumbai attacks when KP was trying to get everyone to come back to India, Flintoff was doing the opposite (understandably in fairness), also apparently Flintoff sided with Moores in that whole debacle.

Clive Lloyd and spinners.

Ramprakash and the ECB.

Symonds and streakers (and Oz fans who followed their side for 2 months in the subcontinent, Bangladesh included).

Shocked and appalled at Warne's comments, was he pissed? Thought he'd grown out of that sort of thing, he's lived in England long enough to know how bad that is. What was he talking about? How on earth did that even come into it?

Am I right in thinking that the term doesn't carry the same stigma in Oz as it does in the UK? Or am I imagining that?
Yeah mate, I used it on here once and got called up on it. Before CW, I would just say it in the same context as an Aussie, Saffa, Pom, Kiwi etc.

Ian Healy and Desmond Haynes didn't like each other.

Think that the MacGill thing is overplayed. Not really disliked, but was just a different guy to the rest of the team. Certainly wasn't an outcast or anything though.

Interestingly he never bowled singl ball to Javed in his life.

Can you tell little more about that speech, what did he say and why was javed brought into discussion, did he say anything else about other cricketrs...like Arjuna or anyone else?
He was just doing an after-dinner speech, and was wheeling out some old stories. The remark about Javed was in the context of the story about the Merv Hughes "tickets please" sledge. He was actually a really good speaker: funny, entertaining and fluent, and he spoke without notes.

But I was surprised that after all the time he's spent in England and with English people he didn't realise that the word "P*ki" is taboo here.

Gayle and Clarke
Actually, my understanding is that Chris Gayle and Michael Clarke are good friends off the field....

Often, what occurs on the field is quickly forgotten over a beer.
Except if you're Colin Croft....

Croft didn't get on with HOlding.

Croft didn't get on with Dujon

Croft didn't get on with any of his team-mates, it seems!

Croft and Sir Geoffrey didn't get on either
It seemed he was quite a 'mean' cricketer, which is weird because he seems very friendly when doing analysis for SkySports.

Think Croft rather pissed on his chips with a lot of fellow West Indians when he accepted the Apartheid era rand to tour SA with the rebel Windies team.

Although some of the disagreements might predate the tour, his "rebel" status might rather mitigate against any reproachment now.
