Speaking of Warne, he and Waugh and he and Gilly had difficult relations at times, but always managed to work well together. Warne thought he should have been captain rather than Waugh, and then lost the VC to Gilly. Plus Gilly was a somewhat sensitive soul who didn't seem to know how to take Warney a lot of the time - I'd have suggested he try a grain of salt.

Michael Slater was convinced Geoff Marsh (then coach) and Steve Waugh hated him. The differing accounts of the incident where a drunk Slats and exasperated Waugh clashed on tour are interesting. I tend to believe Waugh.

Sadly, Slater and Gilchrist's relationship also suffered out of the cricbuzz rumours regarding Slater fathering Gilchrist Jnr. But I think they're ok now.

Andrew Symonds and much of the world, but notably Brendan McCullum, Harbhajan Singh, Sresaanth, Michael Clarke, etc etc.

I've heard it said that Joel Garner retired from international cricket because he didn't want to be captained by Viv Richards. Dunno if that's true.

Also, Geoff Lawson and Steve Small is another. Small got the NSW coaching job and Lawson was none-too-please. There were allegations of phone calls being made to Small's house at the time, and other nasty stuff.

On the Gilly-Warne thing, I really got the impression in his autobio that Gilly tried so hard to convey there wasn't a problem. At seemingly every opportunity he went out of his way to talk up his relationship with Warne. By contrast, he hardly spoke of McGrath at all in his book, which i found very, very odd. TBF, I've never heard a rumour that there was bad blood between them.

Wayne Holdsworth's career with NSW ended rather abruptly, once Geoff Lawson became coach. I'm sure it had absolutely nothing to do with the time when a female came to the rooms to see Geoff, and Holdsworth told Lawson used some rather derogatory language to describe the female at the door. She may/may not have been Lawson's wife...

Graeme Smith and Lance Klusener. Mind you Klusener never got on with the late Hansie Cronje. IIRC a lot of was down to the fact that Klusener wasn't from the rich private school system and different attitudes when it came to playing cricket. Cronje was bit of a fitness freak, whilst Klusener wasn't as bothered.
