Roma had the same punishment, appealed, was reduced but upheld. 1 transfer window for tapping up Mexes.

Reckon FIFA could argue that restriction of trade doesnt apply, or at least argue its not too excessive. They are being limited to entering a competition with existing resources only. No restriction on them actually playing football, no restriction on them selling players and making money if they deem, no restriction on advertising, sales, winnings etc. Chelsea have broken the rules laid down for entering a competition, they are still allowed to compete but with a limitation that does limit their potential to improve, but not significantly limit their operations as a football team. As a business they are not limited, as they can still transact, however just cannot enter these transactions as part of a FIFA competition.
This exact thing happed to Roma not long ago with the Mexes transfer, it's not without precedent.

FTR they appealed and got it reduced to the single window.

Cannot register them. They can sign players though.
Would be interested in knowing which decent player would be willing to sign for a club where he knows he can't play games? Especially in the January transfer window of a World Cup year.

Looks like we'll be next for the transfer embargo, being reported byg Le Harve for nabbing one of their kids in the summer, probably got a fairly good case

If so expect Antwerp to find a bag of money and sign alot of decent kids.....
You guys should be fine. It's not like the they've caught you doing this three times alread (Cole, Mikel and Arnesen). Chelsea thought they could get away with paying every other team off and now can **** off. Hope the CAS uphold it on those grounds as well.

Anyone paying attention to Brazil/Argentina game this weekend. I see strangely Maradona has left out Samuel who had super game last week for Inter, but has picked Coloccini.

Man U, Man U & Chelsea IMHO.
Haha, would go for the exact opposite actually. Drogba ahead of Roon, Anelka ahead of Berbatov and Evra ahead of Cole.

As for Mikel vs. Anderson, Mikel's probably better but I'd much rather have Anderson in my team.

Since there's a competitive England match on Wednesday I'm guessing he and a few others be fine this time. Qualifying should be mathematically sorted after that match.

First two are debateable and could go either way, but not one part of Evra's game is better than Cashley's. I can't make a case he's a superior player, much as that pains me on many levels.

I think he's physically a bit better to be honest. Not as fast, but more stocky and strong, I reckon you would have a lot harder time trying to push Evra off the ball than Cole.

Disagree about him being harder to push off the ball, actually. Cole, being shorter, has a lower centre of gravity and rarely gets bullied off possession. Dives like a mother tho, obv.

To contrdict my earlier post tho, on reflection Evra is better aerially than Cashley, but as players I'd taken the little Judas money-grabber every day.

Rate Clichy ahead of Evra too, even if Domenech seems to disagree.

Could be an interesting discussion... who are the best full backs in the Premiership then?
