In the manga it's been translated as 'Eliminate'. Nowhere near as good as Delete for mine.

Yeah, me neither. But I believe Eliminate is the correct translation, just couldn't dub it properly so it had to be changed. I would not normally advocate watching things dubbed for this very reason, and several others, but the Death Note dub is actually pretty good. If you ever watch another series of anything though, subtitles all the way.

Hate dubbed films so so much. Brain can't take the fact that the lips aren't moving in the same way as what i'm hearing.

Watched the films with subtitles for that reason. Missed Vegeta as Ryuk though.

Yeah, it's not just the fact that the lips aren't moving though, the way Japanese people pronounce vowels and emphasise different parts of the sentence means that the translation often suffers are there aren't any words that fit a direct translation. But regarding Ryuk, yeah, I agree, seeing as in the film he is CGI based, I see no reason why they could not have used the same actor.
