How great must it be to be as rich as Citeh's owners that you can just write off £5m like that?

Only Arse-related one I was quarter-hopeful of was Hangeland & if we were loaning Fulham Vela it might've oiled the wheels v slightly, but can't quite see it coming off now, sadly.

1314: Meanwhile, we understand that Tottenham are still very keen on sealing a deal for Manchester City's Martin Petrov before the day is out. They want the Bulgarian as cover for Luka Modric. City are cooler on a deal for Spurs' David Bentley, although a loan deal is still possible.

Stags swoop for striker Sturrock

Sturrock was a free agent after being released by Swindon
Mansfield Town have signed former Swindon Town forward Blair Sturrock until the end of the season.

Sturrock, 28, is the son of Plymouth Argyle boss Paul and had been a free agent after being released by the Robins in May.

Boss David Holdsworth told the club website: "I'm delighted to get Blair on board. He is a natural goalscorer who has played at a very high level."

The club have also signed left-back Joe Lamplough, 19, on non-contract terms.

Lamplough was a regular for Hull City's reserve side last season.

Sturrock, 28, had loan spells at both Bournemouth and Torquay United last season, scoring twice in 24 games.

That's our big signing? Meh.

Petrov > Bentley by so so much.

Harry must barely be able to keep in the laughter.
Hahaha yeah. Petrov was awesome, shame he's lost his way a bit. Would have been genuinely pleased if he'd signed for United to replace Ronaldo.

I always thought Sno was quite reasonable tbh, not really good at any particular aspect of the game, but a reasonable Paul Collingwood type player who could do a job for a better team, good signing for Bristol.
Always thought he had one of the greatest names ever. Evander Sno. WAG.

Was awesome in one of the PES games, for some reason.

Rob Hulse 3 million to Boro. So Boro are going to lay down 3 mill for a player who once they get promoted will immediately be sold to a Championship side.

Not sure UEFA are going to sanction any of our paperwork until they can confirm that Eduardo has been excecuted. Might as well go to bed and forget about it. Shame, have had some hilarious deadline day Arsenalathons the past few windows.

Dreaming of Chamakh and Matuidi though.

He turned them down I thought. Didn't want to leave a Champions League club for West Ham.

The rumour's still doing the rounds it seems. Was hinge-ing on Collins being sold which has now happened, but yeah could all be bollocks.

Reliable goalscorer at Championship level though.
Indeed. But it just means you have to offload him next season and he has no resale.

Why not just loan out a striker from a top six Premiership club? Citeh have a ****load and Boro can afford the wages.

I understand you need Championship type players to succeed but not ones that cost the same as Roque Santa Cruz did for Blackburn.

Yeah, I'd say it's rehash. Don't know why he'd go there anyway. He could sign a pre-contract with Arsenal in January or wait it out till the summer and have his choice of club.

In other Arsenal related news, looks like Rosicky is fit again and will play for the Czechs. Might as well sell him now while he might pass a medical somewhere.
