From Anderson's Magic Dreadlocks on 606: "Just been driving to work, taking my daily route going past Old Trafford. On going past I saw someone that looked like Andre-Pierre Gignac stood with David Gill and another man. Gignac was talking to Gill with what looked like a contract in his hand."

From Anon, via text on 81111: "I work in the medical centre used by Man Utd. We are expecting a Dutch player this afternoon by the name of Van der Vaart."

Surely some of these ***** are just making stuff up?

Petrov > Bentley by so so much.

Harry must barely be able to keep in the laughter.
Yeah I made a post on Bluemoon about it, it makes no sense on any level other than Hughes wanting a mates club on the bench so he can keep them happy without worry. I'm not so sad to see Petrov go, I don't think he'd play much or make much of an impact this year, and at 31 with dodgy knees I think his career will only go down but selling him to a rival club like Spuds and letting them fill a gap on their left and taking their biggest dressing-room dissident off their hands makes no sense whatsoever.

On another note, ****ing Lucas Neill. Sign for a club already ****, THERE'S A WORLD CUP AT THE END OF THE SEASON WHO GIVES A **** ABOUT YOUR CONTRACT ****.

You've never followed the Beeb on deadline day before then. It's all just ****s taking the piss. Some of them are classic though.

Yeah, it's all 'I have a mate who works at Club X's training ground and he's just seen <insert big name>'

Best ones are those that are somewhat believable rather than Van der Vaart at Old Trafford.

When he played for Monaco? I was surprised at the time he would of gone to PSG and not a bigger/better club.
Yeah, I was as well, kind of expected him to end up at Arsenal, but he would have had Pires ahead of him and was clearly an inferior player. Really good though, surprised he didn't end up somewhere good for at least one season.

Gattuso to Arsenal is another one being bandied around, don't believe it for a second, but if it turned out to be true I wouldn't mind, even if he is probably past it.

1210: There are some rumours abounding that Sunderland's Anton Ferdinand could be on his way to Tottenham. We're checking that one out. Meanwhile in the Champo, Evander Sno has indeed joined Bristol City from Ajax.

Didn't Evander Sno use to play for Celtic?

Wiki says yes.

I always thought Sno was quite reasonable tbh, not really good at any particular aspect of the game, but a reasonable Paul Collingwood type player who could do a job for a better team, good signing for Bristol.

Norwood's on Fire
Pompey have signed a couple, Ben Haim and Hassan Yebda, the latter on a season-long loan and the former subject to a work permit. No movement at PP, relegation sounds like fun
