Sreesanth is near unplayable against right-handers at Wantage Road today. David Houghton banging on about different types of dead grass and all that, but it is just a green seamer.

Lol @ Bell's drop as well.

Houghton's not there. Jeremy Coney was boring us with grass talk.

Stuart Meaker is chipping in once more with vital runs for Surrey - he is looking like a good all round prospect. Although he is still raw with the ball, the talent is pretty obvious in that he rushes batsmen and seems to target the stumps more often than not.
Kudos to Meaker, four hours at the crease now - and Kent need 5 an over by my reckoning. Down to the last pair, will be a bit disappointing if Ramps doesn't come out tbh.

We'll find out soon enough ... Surrey all out, Kent need 200 off 35 overs I reckon. Might as well have a go.

Looks like Kent are, 50 up in 10 overs.

Good century from Andrew Hall. Played and missed countless times but you can't turn your nose up to a 100 on a greenish seamer. Warwickshire will be disappointed.

Yeah, they should do it, but they need to get a shift on - 13 to get and only a couple of overs to go.

Although I suppose they have to play till 6, so there could be more.

Kent did it. That should be promotion.

Elsewhere, Steven Davies with back-to-back centuries for Worcestershire, off a mere 60 odd balls as well.

Ian Bell in batting like an idiot and giving away a good start and chance to get 100 and also letting his team down at the same time shocker.

LOL @ Warwickshire. Needed one off two and still couldn't get home.

Thought Northants were hard done by. Monty's catch looked good to me but you just knew Rikki Clarke would get the benefit.

*sighs* If he keeps on doing stuff like that how can he expect our selectors to pick him again:unsure:
Seems the Ashes success has clouded the minds of the selectors and guys like Prior, an awful limited overs batsman (who has failed in seemingly every position) is getting a go simply because they don't want to rock the boat.

They will probably stick with him until Kieswetter qualifies next year.

Norwood's on Fire
I think the selectors are on record as saying they want the same keeper in all formats. Don't know why tbh, they are happy enough to have different batsmen and bowlers.

It does seem stupid that there appears to be someone able to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and he's not getting a go.

Wonder if the selectors have actually looked at him rather than just his numbers (or alternatively having seen him in training etc and spotted something that we've all missed?)

Prior got so much stick for dropping Sachin a couple of years ago. I wonder if people will remember Kieswetter dropping Murray Goodwin on nought the other day, allowing Goodwin to go on and score 344 not out?

Durham progressing nicely against Somerset, who have subsided from 89 for 0 to 148 for 5.
I must admit to having lost track of the CC lately - how well placed are Durham to retain the title?

"Nailed on" would be the phrase I'd use.

They have won 7 out of 12 games, and no one else has won more than three.

The virtues of having a bowling attack, I suppose.
