If it is Hardy's last match would have prefered Punk to be champion & Hardy to put his career on the line for match, as you said in a straight 1 on 1 match. Reckon it would have got Punk more heat that way especiaaly if Punk had goaded Hardy into putting his career on the line.Yeah, i'm quite looking forward to Summerslam as well actually, looks like it could well be a decent show. I think it's a shame they had to make the Hardy/Punk match a TLC though, I would have rather let them just had one more singles match with no gimmicks and be told to go out and there and cut loose and have the best match possible, esspecially seeing as it is rumoured to be Jeff Hardy's last match for the company.
I think 99% of pro wrestlers at the top are addicts of 1 sort or another at certain time of their career's from what I've read that's the only way they can manage the schedule.HBK was a drug addict when he got injured, so his is more a case of getting his life back together, fair point though
I've read his contract ended in July & he signed a 1 month extension to take hi through Summerslam. No way will the WWE keep him on their shows without a signed contract remember Lex Luger & Jeff Jarrett? Are we sure it's gonna be Jeff's last match? Been reading it for months and just wondering if there is anything concrete behind it, or just a widely accepted rumour
I would say this is more than debateable, he is definitely nowhere near the top, and has not been since about 1999, and even then it was up for debate.Reading around the tinterweb I think he was a bit fruit loop before he got into pro wrestling but yeah all those pain killers, & WWE schedule did him no good at all.
Really over the last 15 years or so only really Tripple H, HBK & Kevin Nash (debatable) have stayed on top, stayed in the business & kept their life together.
Yeah, I would have had Punk go in as champion, making it an all or nothing situation for Jeff. I imagine if it is his last match, the way it will end will be with a major spot so they can say that he was too injured to compete again for the forseeable future. Does strike me as a bit of a shame if it is his last match though, as the E have spent the best part of three years pushing him right up to the main event level, and now, as soon as he has got there, he's had enough and leaving the company. Fair enough, I mean it's upto him what he does, and I don't blame him at all, but it is a bit of a shame. If it is Hardy's last match would have prefered Punk to be champion & Hardy to put his career on the line for match, as you said in a straight 1 on 1 match. Maybe they are going for the Randy Orton RVD type ending with Punk ending Harsy's career through injuring him but that fitted the the 'legend killer' character much more than punk's.
Yeah, I think Undertaker may be Punk's next opponent though....would be good to see him back on TV and you've got perhaps the only face who is as over as Hardy aside from those on Raw that won't be moving (Cena, HHH, HBK). I think Christian is a level below in terms of popularity. Would be an awesome feud though.Would be another big blow to Smackdown so soon after losing Edge. Think Christian would be the ideal man to fill the void reckon a fued between him & Punk would be awesome.
TBH I think this mega-push he's had the last 4/5 months has been BECAUSE of his impending departure though. Think Vince wanted to squeeze every last drop out of him.Yeah, I would have had Punk go in as champion, making it an all or nothing situation for Jeff. Yeah, his run in WWE was horrible though, he spent most of it injured and has some truly terrible main event matches with HHH prior to his release, I wouldn't have called this truly at the top of the company. Was World Champ in WCW in 2000 though and was main eventing in the E around 02/03
Yeah you're correct either side of a Run with trips has done very little inside a main event since, was on top during the 'golden years' though and still has an element of success inside the business.I would say this is more than debateable, he is definitely nowhere near the top, and has not been since about 1999, and even then it was up for debate.
Haha, would love this, could be one of the best things ever. Punk could generally carry a feud with most guys imo, as a heel anyway. Imagine Christian will be moved to one of the A shows before the year is out though, looking forward to see what they do with him.Yeah, I think Undertaker may be Punk's next opponent though....would be good to see him back on TV and you've got perhaps the only face who is as over as Hardy aside from those on Raw that won't be moving (Cena, HHH, HBK). I'd like to think so, but I'm not so sure. Who will carry ECW if Christian moves elsewhere?Haha, would love this, could be one of the best things ever. Haha this is true, not sure top of TNA can really amount to "top of the industry" though. Though I like Nash a lot more than most of the rest of the clique, I really hate how he is involved so heavily in ring these days, despite being so obviously past it. The fact that he beat AJ Styles cleanly for the Legends title a while back just plain stinks. He should have been kept in the advisor/manager role he was about a year ago.Yeah, fair. But even in TNA, even though he's a pile of crap he's still one of their top names.
Not sure, will doubtless move someone back across to help out sooner or later anyway, Christian is just about done feuding with everyone on that roster who is anywhere near his level. Wouldn't rule out a Matt Hardy return now that he seems to have turned face again (thankfully), or maybe even take Morrison back over (hope not, would be a backward step). Or maybe MVP of Kofi, neither of them seem to do a great deal on RAW at the moment, though again, feel it would be a step in the wrong direction for both of them.I'd like to think so, but I'm not so sure. Who will carry ECW if Christian moves elsewhere?
