Someone who offered a pay as you play deal wouldn't do too badly out of it, if he gets fit he'd be a real asset, if not, you don't really lose much.

6 for 20 for Harmy, as Durham win by an innings.

And a career best for Rob Key at Cardiff, back-to-back centuries for him also.

Timely stuff from Key given how Bopara's looked I guess.. UIMM he'd been having a poor season before this, though.

And he made hay on two of the flattest wickets in the country, the Oval and that piece of **** in Wales.

Kempie is closing in on back-to-back tons as well.

Simon Jones out for the season and now out of contract. What county would go near him?

 Would probably make him captain itbt.

Kent certainly are full of runs atm, chance to make 600 for the second match running which can't have happened too often. Key's knock is now the highest for the county since Matt Walker took 275 off Somerset in 1996.

Edit: he's not going to pass that, he's declared. Must be counting on the very slim chance of bowling Glamorgan out in 60-odd overs.

Yet another Surrey game drifiting to a draw - Afzaal has bowled 10 overs already which is a sure sign that they've given it up.

Incidentally rumours were going around the Oval last week that Scott Newman is leaving the county - hasn't played for a month and isn't injured as far as we know. Just when I thought we'd finally got a settled opening pair too.

Eight wickets down at Cardiff now, with 16 overs left by my reckoning. Would be a big win for Kent if they pull it off. Just noticed, they hit 113 off 14 overs this morning.

The talk was now that the P20 would become a 16 team competition with the 2 teams in the CL being omitted. Its all a bit of a mess as they are talking about meddling with the CC as well which should be left alone.

Anyway the Pro40 starts for Lancashire today at Old Trafford, or it won't because it's absolutely ****ing it down here and its on its way to Old Trafford. A nothing competition for Lancs anyway since they are in the second division of the dead competition. At least Gareth Cross is in the squad ahead of Sutton, but i'd have had Brown in there as well.

 Just seen the score from Guildford - five wins in all competitions this year.

We're the Leicestershire of the south.

What an awful attack Surrey fielded yesterday. Chris Jordan, who doesn't seem to progressing as quickly as Surrey would hope (more like regressed). Dirtbag, who despite being around Donkey's years still hasn't found any accuracy and Stuart Meaker, who makes Dirtbag look metronome. All a bunch of legends in their own lunchtime and then you factor in the nonentities, Tim Linley, Matt Spriegel and Chris Schofield. Shower.

Don't think I will bother going down to the Oval when I get back home. Just take the train and go see Amla or Parnell.
