ffs, everyone on the doubles bandwagon..
Yeh pretty unrealistic imo. I wont be playing any doubles at all now, except for Davis Cup if the chance comes up.
There should be some fatigue penalty or something against players that are going deep into draws in both singles and doubles reguarly.

I only want to play doubles on clay. Makes sense to get the most mileage out of my gun surface, and then play less on other surfaces.

For everyone to do it is pretty unrealistic, but the odd player does play huge numbers of tournaments throughout the year. I think Verdasco played 28 singles and 19 doubles tournaments last year which was massive.

But yeah, I'd like a nice spread of those who are singles specialists (Oxenstierna, Smeltz, etc.), guys who play both and then those who are more doubles specialists (Korpinen at the moment).

Those who start playing loads of tournaments and go deep into them will be penalised. It is just harder in season I where lots of games are needed to maintain a good ranking.

Open de Moselle
Final - Metz (France) - Indoor Hard

Qualifying (Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Singles (Seeds - Finals - Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Doubles (Draw)

  • Fourth seed Patrick Pascaul has claimed his first title of the season in emphatic style; destroying fellow Frenchman Pierre L'Estrange in the final in Metz. Pascaul overturned the demons of his 0-1 finals record to dismantle the inform L'Estrange in little over an hour as he ran out a 6-2, 6-1 winner. L'Estrange had a break point to go up 2-0 in the second set, but failed to capitalise as Pascaul won six games on the trot to move inside the world's top 25.

  • Seeded players out: None.
  • In the doubles, Wimbledon champions Sandro Bachunelli & Hicham Hadir have claimed their second career title after a come-from-behind win over Norwegian brothers Kim & Tom Vollan. In their first final together, the irregular doubles duo took the first set in a tiebreaker, before being blindsided by the Italian-Moroccan duo who surged to take the title 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-4.

  • Seeded players out: None.
BCR Romanian Open
Final - Bucharest (Romania) - Clay

Men's Singles (Seeds - Finals - Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Doubles (Draw)

  • Serbia's Danijel Micic has ensured his good form was rewarded with gold as he claimed the BCR Romania Open crown with a three-set win over brave CWLander Jamee Hancianu. The fourth seeded Serbian was made to fight against Hancianu who, after dropping the first set, looked like he could make it four games in a row he would win after going down by a set as he took the second 6-2. But a frustrated Micic calmed himself and set about attacking Hancianu in the decider. He did so to great effect; earning the match-winning break of service in the sixth game of the set and cruising to his second tour title 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.

  • Seeded players out:
    Jamee Hancianu.
  • It was a dog of a day for tennis players growing up in Romania as Viorel Iftime & Marius Micu were beaten in straight sets in the doubles final. Second seeded Spaniards Ion Andueza & Sanchez Emelio added the Bucharest crown to that of the Stuttgart one as they overcame a lacklustre Romanian third seeded pair 6-4, 6-3.

  • Seeded players out:
    Viorel Iftime &
    Marius Micu.
Ethias Trophy
Final - Mons (Belgium) - Indoor Hard

Men's Singles (Finals - Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Doubles (Draw)

  • In two tight sets in Belgium, CWLand's Spas Delev claimed his first Challenger title with a straight sets victory over Latvian giant Ivars Emsis. The two-metre second seed served well against Delev, but was found wanting in the rallies as the top seed worked him over on the backhand side to great effect. Whilst only dropping service once, Emsis never troubled Delev in rallies as the hardened CWLander produced a 7-5, 7-6(4) victory to move inside the world's top 80.

  • Seeded players out:
    Ivars Emsis.
  • In the doubles final, second seeds Christophe Norman & Björn Tol claimed a second Challenger title as they defeated top seeds Roel Hervelle & Jerzy Kosecki in three sets 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.

  • Seeded players out:
    Roel Hervelle &
    Jerzy Kosecki.
---

Tough luck for Hancianu, but great effort from Delev to take his first title.

Ouch :( Thought I had a good chance there.

Still, good to be back into the top 32, at least.

Where are next week's tourneys? (This game is so gun)
