Very, very possible. Would go in as underdog against either Micic or Smeltz, but definately in their league. Smeltz has a very tough semi coming up.

Relieved to get through, consecutive 7-5 in the thirds, can't help but think the luck is about to run out.

Unlucky Maxum, well played Smeltz.

I feel slightly better that the Croat Midid beat Zhijun Sun as he's obviously in good form.

Good option on the challenger Bowenburg, keep fresh, though the japanese will surely miss their chance to mob you.

Oh Maxum I'm disappointed not to get a chance to ride the bullet train as you are aware train spotting is one of my favourite hobbies.

The Japanese will still get a chance to 'mob the lob' in Tokyo the week after.

Also looking forward to our karoake duet. :)

Think we should practice on court tbh, will help keep us relaxed while entertaining the crowd and torturing our opponents. Suggest anything by Kylie Minogue for on-court singing.

Open de Moselle
Semi Finals - Metz (France) - Indoor Hard

Qualifying (Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Singles (Seeds - Finals - Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Doubles (Draw)

  • The Open de Moselle will host the first all-French final after fourth seed Patrick Pascaul and former world No. 16 Pierre L'Estrange. In his best tournament performance since a serious back injury, L'Estrange managed to prove his fitness in the third set against Nilikar Midid as he surged to a 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-0 victory over the Croat. Meanwhile, Pascaul didn't have the difficulties of his compatriot in the first set as he beat second seed Carlo Amato in clinical fashion 6-2, 6-1 in perhaps one of his best performances this season.

  • Seeded players out:
    Carlo Amato.
  • In the doubles semifinals, unseeded Norwegian brothers Kim & Tom Vollan seem to be revelling on the indoor courts as they continued their impressive run to beat Pickford champions Lee Inmin & Qingdong Tsai. The powerhouses were forced to come from a set down to beat the Asian pair 3-6, 6-4, 11-9, but face a massive task in the final against the world's No. 4 team Sandro Bachunelli & Hicham Hadir after they eased past Matthias Müller & Tim Zander in their most convincing victory of the week.

  • Seeded players out:
    Lee Inmin &
    Qingdong Tsai

Semi Finals - Bucharest (Romania) - Clay

Men's Singles (Seeds - Finals - Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Doubles (Draw)

  • 18-year old Jamee Hancianu will compete in his second ATP final on Sunday after again coming from a set down to beat Spain's Sergio Joaquín. Hancianu had dropped the first set in his second round and quarterfinal matchups, and there was little surprise when the eighth seed comfortably accounted for Hancianu in the first set. But the nerves quickly slipped away from Hancianu, and he came into his own as he traded bombs with Joaquín at the baseline to ultimately level the match at a set each. In a fifty-one minute deciding set full of lengthy rallies, the endurance of Hancianu paid off as he moved into the final 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 with just his third break of the Spaniard's service of the match. The CWLander will hope to arrest his finals record after losing in the same fixture in Costa do Sauípe.
  • It will not, however, be an all-CWLand showdown as top seed Randy Smeltz's luck ran out again in form Serb Danijel Micic. The pair traded sets with a break of service each in a meandering start to the match, before Micic stole an early lead in the decider as Smeltz double faulted at break point. Whilst he managed to break back, he was left playing catchup as the increasingly confident Micic began to open up and play the explosive shots he was known for leading up to this season. Another break of service sealed the victory for the fourth seed who moved to his second ATP final with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 upset.

  • Seeded players out:
    Sergio Joaquín;
    Randy Smeltz.
  • The doubles final sees Romanian team Viorel Iftime & Marius Micu do battle with second seeds Ion Andueza & Sanchez Emelio. The third seeds flew out of the blocks against French Open runners-up Tal Cohen & Raz Teper, before being forced to take a tight match tiebreaker to secure a 6-1, 6-7(4), 12-10 upset. Meanwhile, Andueza and Emelio also had their fair share of troubles against fellow Spaniards Marc Carretero & Sergio Joaquín before prevailing 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 in Joaquín's second match of the day.

  • Seeded players out:
    Tal Cohen &
    Raz Teper.
Ethias Trophy
Semi Finals - Mons (Belgium) - Indoor Hard

Men's Singles (Finals - Top Half - Bottom Half)
Men's Doubles (Draw)

  • Spas Delev will compete in his first Challenger final this Sunday after coming from a set down to survive a scare against Iceland's Gunnar Valsson. The white-blonde Valsson started confidently as his aggressive style caused Delev some issues; his service broken on three occasions in the first set alone as Valsson attacked his second serves mercilessly. But the gung-ho approach stopped working as Delev ramped up his first service percentages to just under eighty; Valsson letting the unforced errors flow in a 22-minute second set which saw Delev capture all the momentum. From there, he proved too good for a frustrated Icelander as he advanced 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. In the final he faces big Latvian Ivars Emsis; the second seed firing down sixteen aces in a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over fourth seed Gjorgji Dinov which saw him broken just once from two break points.

  • Seeded players out: Gjorgji Dinov.
  • The doubles final is also a top-two seed clash after Roel Hervelle & Jerzy Kosecki set up a meeting with Christophe Norman & Björn Tol. The second seeds were made to toil for their 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 win over Grigory Khugaev & Alexey Korskakov, whilst Hervelle & Kosecki easily thrashed Kiwi-Samoan outfit Karl King & Murphy S'ua in straight sets. Belgium is therefore guaranteed one of its players will secure a win with the presence of Hervelle and Norman in the final.

  • Seeded players out: Grigory Khugaev & Alexey Korskakov.

Worth pointing out now that in all likelihood I'll sim and then post week 40 up in either one or two goes. With just two tournaments and five people competing (two of which don't really have much of a hope of going all that far either), I'm not keen to give it the full treatment. If someone makes a final, I'll post it seperately.

For the record, would like to know which of the following want to play doubles at their specific events (I'll hook you up with either someone you created, or someone I think suits):

Bangkok:
Daniels (no doubles)
Banks
Mustard

Trnava, Slovakia:
Bowenburg
Singh (Rao)

Damn I had a feeling that loss was coming. I always lose when SBI says I've got a "Tough match" or something along those lines coming up.
