Have been pretty disappointed with the kind of lines both Johnson and Siddle have bowled in general, had they been slightly more accurate, Australia could have been in a commanding position in this game on day 1.

Ponting's finally managed to persuade Katich to have a bowl, should be interesting
Yep.

Interesting North hasn't had a bowl. Wonder what would have happened if Watson was fit, I reckon he would have played at 6 and the attack would look that little bit stronger and balanced. Clearly North hasn't been selected as an 'all-rounder' as was talked up in the media. Good thing, too, cause his bowling isn't more than part time.

Obviously, though, you don't select a squad planning for a fit Watson, cause it never happens.

Words cannot describe how much I hate him (and his awful keeping)
Well if we are to judge him from the 34 balls hes faced, hes comfortably looked the best batsman today. Kept out a really good yorker very early in his innings that most lesser players would have got out to.

I never said he couldn't bat.

Yep Siddle got the most movement and looked the most dangerous but he frequently bowled too short and sent deliveries down the leg side. Perhaps he bowled better than his figures would suggest but he certainly didnt bowl like Hilfenhaus today.

Matt Prior's a very aesthetically pleasing batsman to watch. Looking very comfortable out there.

Shot Fred. Definitely playing positively, he seems to surprise himself everytime he gets bat on ball and gives a big smile. What a guy.

If England can get through to 320 for 5 at the close, then that would be a pretty good. I would have taken that at the start.
