Reckon whoever loses today will be better for it.
Not if either, particularly St Kilda, are smashed though.

Whoever loses, you'd want it to be similar to the Hawks' loss to Geelong last year. Honourable, and people walked out going "not much between them, anything can happen if they play again", and then it did.

Saints getting some harsh calls buy looking much better than Geelong.

Thompson playing ducks and drakes with Stevie Johnson?

Geelong get a few back from free kicks after Saints kick the first five. Didn't see that start coming.

Awesome that the match is on live, btw.

We're getting delayed coverage of the game here. Can't even stretch to having a live game when its 1 vs. 2. Bastards.

Will avoid this thread for the next couple of hours to miss out on the spoilers.

Definitely one of the best games of football I've ever watched. Saints probably deserved it in the end, but a draw wouldn't have been a bad result.

How good was Gardiner's mark?

One of the most amazing games of footy you will EVER see. Lived up to every bit of the hype and more. Had everything. If these two don't meet again in the Grand Final it'll be very disappointing.

Was brilliant as was Riewoldt's one running backwards right at the start which had echoes of that amazing one he took against Sydney a few years back.

Brilliant game - Gardiner was the hero.

Think Saints will take more believe and feeling of destiny. The Cats will be looking forward to getting Johnson and Ottens back, and will probably benefit from the extra motivation to get revenge and enjoy a bit of relief in terms of expectations.

Wow, we finally get some momentum, and miss three in a row. We've got to be the most inaccurate side in the comp.

agree and with king to come back in the saints are looking good. Two gun forwards, 2 good rucks and really only a lack of a super quick midfielder being a weakness.

Gardiner on my fantasy bench  ****

What was Raph Clarke doing back in the team? Hate to be harsh on a bloke with an injury, but I didn't think it was coincidental that St Kilda have been better since Xavier Clarke has been unavailable due to injury, and he and Raph are similar in that regard. Both seem like really good guys, but have too much of the old St Kilda (on-field) to them.

Three quick goals at the start of the final term and we're in front, wiping off an 18 pt deficit. Freo really bottling this.

Wow! What a mark by Gardiner there at the end. What an incredible finish. And managed to avoid the spoilers just about - though the missus came in at the 3rd quarter mark and forced the channel change. Her mum rang just in time for the start of the 4th and the AFL was back on.

A thriller.

Maybe we can make room for Western Sydney AND Tasmania AND the Gold Coast by abolishing Fremantle and Port Adelaide. Not worth a cup of **** between the two of them.
