As long as you take it out on the media who perpetuate this hype, and not Roddick, its cool.

After the Wimbledon 2005 final, they asked Roddick about his rivalry with Federer, and he said something along the lines of

"its not a rivalry if I keep getting by butt kicked every match".

So he knows his limitations. Blame the media.
i do...and my sarcasm was directed towards media hype...

Rafa obviously tired from yesterday's match, and he has those knee concerns, plus the court hasn't favoured his playing style compared to Roland Garros... but still, well played Roger :-O

Good to see. Wonder if Rafa's odds for the French jump up a bit now with the injury concerns, and with Novak pushing him, and Roger beating him.
i doubt it, i think he is still as prohibitive a favourite...

But Federer won the thing! My ranting would be pretty redundant this time around.
Haha yeah once I saw Federer won the thing I'd imagine you'd reply with something similar :p

Fair play

Odds haven't changed at all. Probably learnt their lesson from 2007 when Roger beat Rafa in Hamburg, and lost the French.

He's playing awesomely. Its going to be a good French Open this year!

I hope Roger and Novak are in the same draw! I want those two in the semis. Will be sweet.

Oh and well done Federer. He's been in horrible form and has had people write him off left right and centre. To beat Rafa on clay is no mean feat no matter how tired he might be.

Great to see Fed back in the winners' circle. Should give him great confidence leading into the French Open. Obviously will have to play exceptionally well, but positive signs none-the-less.

What's the nature of Rafa's ongoing knee troubles? I'm not surprised he's got issues there, his game is so high energy etc.

Much as I want Fed to get a French title, I'd like Rafa to be there at something approaching top health, else it would tend to cheapen the win (if that's at all possiblke when you win a grand slam event). He's a good fella as well as a top player.

Hewitt with a tricky first-round match-up. Karlovic is 3-0 against him, though none of them being clay. You'd think Hewitt wouldn't lose 3 sets to him, but ya never know.

Also Juan Carlos Ferrero vs. Ljubicic could be interesting as well.

Love Karlovic actually. Nothing quite like a bit of ridiculous power, as useless as it is on clay.

Pretty pumped for this tbh. For me personally, the start of the French is associated with the beginning of summer :D
