See young James Taylor scored his maiden OD hundred today, run out at the death, had a decent start to his OD career 322@64.4. Whats going on down at Leicester?
New name to me, first spotted him on the scorecard earlier this season. No doubt he's already seen plenty of rain, but hopefully no fire as yet. ;)

Glamorgan not exactly shining in front of the Sky cameras, you'd have to say. At least this isn't the Test wicket they're playing on.

Hmmm, perhaps 124 just gives Glamorgan something to bowl with, which they didn't have at 67-7. The wicket is turning, and they have two of the most experienced spinners on the circuit. Could yet get interesting.

Intuitively you'd think so until you remember how few matches Eoin Morgan actually performed in before getting a call-up.
40odd list A games for Middlesex and a few for England Lions? Averaging over 35 in OD cricket when, barring Trott, there is a dearth of options for England?

That will probably be slower.

Get back from work to see Mahmood hit a six then miss a straight one. Lancashire doing a good job of throwing away a decent position. 259-8 with 4 overs left

Looking forward to seeing Redfern bat and Smith bowl...maybe see Clare get a couple of overs at the death now.

First wicket down after a decent start by Derby, chasing 297. Those spectators are well wrapped up ...

Great first ball from Saj to break the stranglehold...

I was shaking my head with all the comms bemoaning Saj not opening

That's my first experience of the new improved 2009 Saj. I'm not convinced.
It is so frustrating to see; if he could land the ball vaguely in the right area, he could pose problems. He was working up extreme pace today but when you bowl the ball short and wide, angling even wider, there is no hope to dismiss anyone. England need to stop paying attention to him until he can deliver some results.

On a positive note, the Lancashire medium pacers bowled well, from when I switched on in about the sixth or seventh over. I didn't catch any of Newby, but Hogg and Smith bowled very well. Hogg gets the ball to deviate significantly and Smith hits the bat hard while maintaining a good line.

Yeah was happy to see Smithy do well, he's not had the most auspicious start to the season with the ball, especially in OD cricket which should really be his forte. Newby bowled too short a la Saj...ideally we should only have one of them in the side in OD cricket as we can then hide them if they have a poor day, obviously Newby came in because of Chapple's niggle.
