And he's not going to be very good for NZ, even if he wasn't ICL.

Ahem, so, English cricket, back OT, hows Charlie Shreck going this year? Far better bet than others that have been called up surely?
well he's playing in Nottinghamshire second XI because he can't get a game ahead of 20yo Luke Fletcher so not a great start for Charlie. Actually I'd be worried if i was him, he seemingly has Fletcher, Adams, Sidebottom, Franks, Ealham and Pattinson plus Broad(when available) ahead of him for a seamers spot.

Nope, Napier and Masters have been opening together since Napier got back into the FC team last July.
Yeah, I just checked it out. Cameback from second XI cricket and took the new ball in all but one of the games. He only went to first change when Chambers was playing.

I do, generally, think he's an underrated bowler. An overrated batsman, but an underrated bowler. I'm stoked to see him in the T20 squad, but I hope England use him properly.

Agree here. I really do rate his bowling. It is a shame he has that horrible previous FC record weighing him down because, these days, he gets the ball down at very good pace, pitches it up and gets swing.

He has his moments with the ball. I remember seeing him a couple of years back for Essex and he was bowling at a very lively pace and reversing swinging it miles. But when he doesn’t get the ball to move in the air, he does skid onto the bat nicely. Reminds me of a poor man’s Darren Gough (similar build, action and height), very good man’s Ryan ten Doeschate.

Woakes and Rankin doing a number on the Middlesex top order. They'd better hope they don't go the way of kent yesterday

Yeah, Napier in the generally swinging condiitons here against your Marshalls and co. looks a million dollars (can be expensive though), but I'd imagine in the harsher international condiitons he might fade a bit.

Blimey, Paul Franks is over 30. I was still thinking of him as promising:unsure:

Really pissed off about no first class stuff for over a month, just seems stupidly wrong.

Prefer the break being now rather than in June as in the past to be honest, then at least we play FC cricket in the better part of the summer. (Though the break is a week or so longer than previously)..its actually just less than a month..the last games ended on the 9th and the next start on the 6th may :p

Then for most sides they shoehorn 3 four day games into 14 or 15 days!

It's still annoying, particularly as I was hoping to lengthen my considerable lead in the Fantasy cricket :p

Anyway, your right about the amount of decent youngsters getting a go. Particularly interested in Woakes, Fletcher and James Taylor.

Also interested in Joe Gatting, mainly because I was a massive fan of his uncle. Has Zaremba seen him play? he's off to a promising start.

See young James Taylor scored his maiden OD hundred today, run out at the death, had a decent start to his OD career 322@64.4. Whats going on down at Leicester?

Boyd Rankin snicks out Hughes and Shah in his opening spell of 2-18 to set up Middlsex for a below-par total.

England to call him up for the Australia tour, play him in one ODI, then never play him again.

Would have thought they'd want to see him perform for more than 2 games
