Fidel piss poor at the death in this game.
Clown. Tucks into Dilshan then bowls a no-ball which is smashed for 4 and his side has somehow lost the game. Idiot.

Fantastic knock from Dilshan. Delhi are not missing Warner. Though, their two openers might need to come to the party. Sehwag has been chucking it away but Gambhir has looked poor.

And Nannes is really stepping it up now. Twas a good move to persist with him.

Whatever it takes!!!
Gr8 partnership between Dilshan and DK... DK being so fluent really helped Dilshan and allowed him to play those dot balls in between there and he picked up just when it was needed...

What is with Hyderabad batting Venugopal Rao at 7 in a T20 match?

If you are going to play Rao and Badrinath (for Chennai), bat them in the right position.
In T20, you should be flexible enough to be able to bat anywhere .... prime example is Dravid, who has done well at most positions, he has batted in .... if these two can't then it is something that they will have to learn to do that. the teams don't bat you in positions, you are comfortable in

Yeah sure, so my point is, if they can't fulfil the role the team wants them to play (bat 7, at the death), why pick them?

They're both good first class batsmen, who clearly aren't big hitters.

What's so special about Quiney that Rajasthan are refusing to let Carseldine have a go instead? Their respective T20 records are poles apart. Quiney averages 14 and Carseldine 57.

one of the reasons could be that they are there to give respectability to the total in case of a collapse .... if the team is say 4/5 down for 50, it would make sense for someone like them to play out the overs as at that point there is little sense in smashing every other ball. on the other hand, if the team is say 70/1, it would make little sense to bat them higher above those who can score very quickly

Okay, then the teams should be flexible. If there are 10 balls left, and the fifth wicket has fallen, Chennai should send in Gony instead of Badrinath.

Personally i'd take this one step further and not even have a batting order. If you're batting second under lights chasing a mediocre total, send a defensive batsman in early to see off the new ball. If you're in good batting conditions, send in a pinch-hitter to take advantage of powerplays. Etc. etc.

yep, promoting Gony would make sense but may be the guys thought a specialist batsman would do a better job .... and If I am in the side as a specialist batsman, I would want to go in ahead of a bowler no matter how many balls are remaining as I would back myself to do the job better

May be they should give a chance to Vijay to open and see how he goes

And with openers gone early, Badri comes in .... hope he does well!

Yeah, it is a strange one.

Also, does Quiney have a problem moving? Saw him in the last game and he was so slow in the outfield, I thought it was Graeme Smith for a minute.

RAINA! :D:D:D

And such a good move sending in Badri at 4.

Come on Chennai! This is the order I've wanted! Now perform.

Incredibly awful fielding by RR today. Did anyone get a good look at which players were responsible? I couldn't tell.

That really sucks for Raina, scoreboard said he had a 100 so he waved the bat and all, got out next shot but he was only on 98. Magnificent knock nonetheless, one of the best so far in the tourney.
