Arun Lal speaks of something I have noticed for quite some time. The fringe Indian players in every team are often sidelined, particularly while batting. We find that most teams (particularly Chennai/Bangalore/Kolkata/Deccan) have the foreign players batting higher up, while the India prospects are low down at six or seven. This is seen best in TN, where we find Dhoni coming in at four or five, then Morkel and Flintoff coming in ahead of Badrinath, unfortunately stuck at seven. You can't expect a big score from him, when he needs to play a Flintoff/Morkel type of innings. Even in Delhi, a supply line for the T20 team, we find Dilshan and AB batting at three and four, and they bat a large chunk of overs, and when the likes of Karthik and Tiwary come in, they have to smash things all around, reducing their chances of getting a big score. You can't expect much from them in such a case. This seems to be a lot less pronounced with the bowlers, as we don't find defensive fields set for the Indians. India's T20 bowling options are not too bad, but their batting has problems, particularly the lack of big scores.

Mishy kicks ass yet again. When will people accept that just because he's a young leg-spinner doesn't mean he's erratic?

What's the point of Robin Uthappa? The space being used up by him could be filled with oxygen.
He's Wasim Jaffer plus. He's also Virat Kohli plus. That's what. Besides, none of their international players are performing either.

What is it with Indians in T20? I've never seen a good T20 innings by an Indian recently, except by non-prospect 'has-beens' like Tendulkar and Dravid. Time and again, an Indian is out cheaply, before even breaching 50, even as players from other countries regularly get scores over 50. You find a century by most top batsmen from other teams, but never by an Indian. At times, it's frustrating. Sometimes, it looks plain silly.

Rohit Sharma?

Also, how many young Indian batsman bat in positions where they can greatly influence a game with the bat and not many have played in the Republic before.

When does KP go back to England?

Things might look up if their overseas players are Ryder, White, van der Merwe and Steyn or du Preez.

DD make it 3 in a row! Dilshan has been the star batsman for DD! .... The overseas players fit in to the scheme of things as well .... Warner and McGrath are still not needed!!

Be nice if Punjab gave Luke Pomersbach a go. I don't know why he is getting overlooked for Mahela, he's not even a guarantee to play in Sri Lanka's 20/20 WC side.
