I just realised that Hay wasn't playing for CD again. Does anyone have the faintest clue why? I mean, sure, he wets his pants everytime he sees a blade of grass, but with your home ground at McLean Park that isn't too big a deal. Is it injury? Personal commitments? Running off with the coach's daughter?

EDIT: don't worry, I just saw that if you put aside one innings of 131*, he's managed just 30 runs in 6 innings this season. Wow.

Do you have any actual evidence he is a flat track bully?

And no, I have no idea. Might be on loan to the Wellington Direbirds though. :p

Interesting bust up going on in Wellington Cricket.

Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club made the final after beating Upper Hutt by a large margin. The problem is, they flew in a Victorian cricketer (Steve Sporljevic(sic.)) just for the game. Flew him in Friday, flew him home Sunday for two consecutive weeks. He scored 157* and took 2 wickets for 8 runs.

Overseas professionals are supposed to be in the country for 14 days preceeding a game, but Easts ignored this (as most teams in Wellington do) and a load of fuss has been kicked up about it.

Haha, thats pretty cheap tactics.

Yes, this coming from a person whose School First XI used two FC batsmen when it could.

Do you have any evidence that he isn't? And no, not really, it's just fun to annoy!

His form is odd though. Mostly when new batsmen have a **** season, it's in the second one, after the bowlers have had a year to work out the weaknesses in your game (happened to Taylor in particular). This is Hay's third year now, so it'd be kinda strange if opposition bowlers only just cottoned on to some flaw in his technique.

I do remember two 90s on a greentop. I remember it because he was the only batsman who actualy did anything and because I could log in here and tell you. :p

Moles has commented (though at the time he was talking as ND coach and it was a selection shoot out between Flynn/Marshall and Sinclair/Hay) that he struggles to get it off the pitch block early, so if he lost form and his square of the wicket strengths were choked you could concievably get him. But he's probably like Ryder in that he's really good in one area and you can stack it all you like, it won't work.

My guess is bowlers have been bowling tight and he's naturally out of form, so he's ****ing up because he has less options than the like of Taylor, Ryder etc early in his innings.

Basically, Hay needs to get better at starting an innings. Like Skippy really.

Century on FC debut for Ryan McCone. Anyone know much about him? Good prospect?

I assumed he was more of a bowler, seeing as he batted at nine.

I see Jacob Oram is not playing for CD today.

What happened? Did he break a nail?

FFS. If he wants to play the 3rd test, he's just shot himself in the foot.
