Another century for Wade. Stuff Hartley, Manou or Paine, get Matt Wade into the Ashes squad. In all seriousness though, terrific finish to the season for the young keeper.

Some forgotten players have really turned there careers around in the last month of cricket this season. Wade, Hartley, Cleary, Cosgrove, Butterworth, Khawaja and more. Made the last month quite special to see some of the individual performances of these cricketers.
Always happens around Ashes tour time. :)

Do you guys think they will take a big squad for Ashes this time around. Also if Watson and Symonds are back, would let Hughes be the reserve keeper and pick an extra batsmen in the squad (Symonds/Watson). I doubt Hughes will play as keeper, but there probably a A tour planned as well. Where the likes of Wade and Hartley would be better off playing.

EDIT: Just noticed Stuart Meaker is an Pom. Probably explains why I haven't heard much about him. Unless someone is a potential NSW cricketer no one really talks about the player. He was meant to be clocked at 95mph at ECB Speed Test. So he probably bowls that speed.
Lol, that's why I asked:laugh: .

How so? Junction is a always a road, we havent been beaten all year and we just grinded QLD into the dirt for 200 + overs.
2006 NRL grand final. Melbourne had beaten everyone within their sights all season, and Brisbane hadn't won a game against them in a couple of seasons (and haven't since) and we got the upper hand in the final. Finals are funny things, it doesn't matter how you get there, but if you do you're a chance of winning.

On paper Queensland should never have one the FRC final two weekends ago. Cricket like so many other sports is a strange game when it comes to a final. Victoria may get knocked over for 150 on Day 1. As unlikely as it may be.

Hopefully will be a cracker of a season finale, some dull stalemates over the past decade. Really hope both teams bring there A game.

Be interesting to see how the Junction pitch is. Since it's stopped being used for the Victorian side, it's become rather bowling friendly. Good pace in the deck, with a bit of grass on top. While the Vics were playing there, it wouldn't deviate a cm over four days, flattest thing in the world.

Now, now. Logic doesn't work against Mike!

Confident the Bulls can win this one as the Vic's have all used up their good innings [apart from Jewell] in the recently completed match.

Hopes is the key for us, Cutting should get a run too and could/should dominate.

Yeah, pretty good team that. Would love to see Haydos come out of retirement for one game also.

Yep, but might be back for the final.
Yeah, probably should phrased that better. :p

I knew he'd injured himself in the last Shield game; I was wondering if he was going to be fit for the final. What are his chances? Likely to play or just maybe if he's lucky?

Yeah, I reckon that'll be the team assuming Swan is fit. Rimmington might play ahead of Cutting though I suppose.

Unlikely to play but a slim chance.

Reckon Queensland should ask Murali or another one of Pakistan and Sri Lankan bowlers to come over and play a game. Worked for NSW in the Big Bash.

Queensland website says Harris and Noffke are almost certainly unavailable. Also there's no chance of Watson bowling, he said in a recent interview he was expecting to start bowling sometime during the IPL which is at least six weeks away.

If Queensland are to win, they need to hope for Hopes to do a great job with the ball, with some good support. Also, they could do with some runs out of Symonds/Hopes/Simpson. It's interesting that Queensland only have two batsman averaging over 40 - Love 46 and Carseldine 48 (plus Watson 63 in 3 matches) - and yet they've made the final. Symonds (15 in 7 matches), Hopes (17 in 8 matches) and Simpson (12 in 10 matches) have all been hugely below par.

You have never seen Simpson bat have you? Reckon he batting and bowling a lot better then what he capable of doing. An average of above 10 with the bat, is massive for him. As is an average below 50 with the bowl.
