Think you are spot on. The winning teams simply have a more well rounded and even contributing line-up.Interesting to see so few players from the winning teams in each competition get into the teams. Two in the four-day/one-day and none in the T20. Is this because the winning teams have had relied on single players less?
Not in the city over the weekend, so hopefully the game will last until Monday and Tuesday. Working on St Kilda Rd during the week so can pop by during lunch or after work.Anyone else going on Friday? Will try head down after uni.
Don't know about that, Queensland despite what they achived by the end of the season, still had a pretty hot and cold sort of a season, and Laughlin (in OD games) and Carseldine were their only two consistent performers, so nothing wrong with that AFAIC.Queensland severely underrepresented based on their acheivements as a team.
Also confused as to Chris Rogers non-selection in the Franger cup team while winning best player.
Believe the bushfire relief concert at the MCG is the reason for the shift. They booked the MCG first, Cricket Australia refused to move Shield final dates. So stuck in the situation we are in.It's a load of crap the game's not being played at the MCG. What's the reason? Because of the AFL? If so, that's ********.

rogers will be the new langer of one day cricket, it doesn't matter how many runs he scores in domestic one dayers he won't get a look inRogers should have been in the starting XI for the 50 over format instead of Warner IMO.
But pretty good sides.
I don't see the similar comparison to Langer. Rogers has had a single excellent one day season for Victoria (without a century it must be added), non selection for years at WA, and shown to be nothing more than average playing in England domestic. Compare this to Langer who dominated the one day competition for years in Australia and England.rogers will be the new langer of one day cricket, it doesn't matter how many runs he scores in domestic one dayers he won't get a look in
i did say rogers will be the next langer, not is, ie he will more than likely dominate the domestic one day competition and not get a look in, some players just get pigeon holedI don't see the similar comparison to Langer. Rogers simply does not deserve Australian one day selection. Langer did.
Sure he won't bowl more than 5 overs, anyway.Signing our own death warrant if we pick D Doran frankly.
How do you imagine Rogers will suddently dominate the domestic competition? He has shown nothing up until this season to make it look like he is a fantastic one day batsman. At 31 the selectors are probably wise not to look in his direction for a future one day opener. Don't see how he will become pigeon holed; doesn't appear to be in any consideration for the test spot either. He is simply just a good batsman peaking at the wrong end of his career.i did say rogers will be the next langer, not is, ie he will more than likely dominate the domestic one day competition and not get a look in, some players just get pigeon holed
