Ha, love Office Space, without wishing to derail the thread too much. Michael Bolton is my favourite character, "Why should I change my name? He's the one who sucks!"
"The ratio of people to cake is too high".

Milton's the best, ever.

Note: Could not include Vettori (and kaneria) as his average was more than 2 runs in excess of the cut off limit; in fact, three spinners - shivlal yadav, paul adams and john bracewell - lie between him and panesar.
LOL, devastating for Dan, totally sigworthy

Man, those really are some fantastic figures. From both bowlers.

Code:
M Muralitharan (SL) 1992-2008 99 168 5640.5 1359 14072 588 9/65 16/220 23.93 2.49 57.5 49 16

Looks like Warne has it won though, like last time. So I might as well go Qadir.

LOL!

To the part-time spinners, I presume? ;)

Poll is closer than last time though, wonder if that gap will close over time, or (for that matter) what the verdict would have been as pure bowlers.

Warne by far, he revived the dieing art of Leg spin when he burst onto the scene in the early 90's, the control and spin he could get on the ball was amazing, best leg spin bowler ever.

Well, Warne is not the best leg-spin bowler ever according to many...Some would say that crown belongs to O'Reilly (like me), and some would say it belongs to Grimmett (like SJS, who considers Warne only the third best leg-spin bowler in history)...But I think there shouldn't be any doubt on anyone's mind (among those who consider Murali a bowler, not a chucker) that Murali is the best off-spinner in history by faaaaar...

Having said all that, this proves no point (might prove that there have been dearth of great off-spinners in history, but that's not Murali's credit perhaps) and this was just a personal observation and in no way any intension to demean Warne's achievements...Both have been absolute champions, and the selection depends on personal chice...

Whatever it takes!!!
I've heard mixed anecdotes. Some people say he was really friendly, a good laugh to chat with and seemed a generally really good guy. The people who disagree tend to be the unfortunate women subjected to his chat-up technique :p
He was great fun to be around most of the times, tbh.. I suppose there were occassions when he was frustrated due to whatever reasons and didn't seem so nice but even when Sachin was pasting him, he found ways to be cheerful, to play with the crowd and basically laugh at himself.. I think that is a great trait in a sportsman.

And of course, you gotta be a nice enough guy if you are giving tips to highschool/college cricketers who cant even win their games.. He even told me how he bowls his flipper... And warned me about how much pressure it puts on your shoulder and elbow. :)

I have watched 3 games in Chennai with Warney and he almost always came across as a genuinely nice and friendly bloke... Look, these guys are gonna have off days and they are gonna have their minus points as human beings but some guys handle that amazing pressure better than others. Doesn't make the others any less as human beings. Not everyone can be a Sachin and Murali and even those two have had their bad moments, but obviously a lot lesser than say a Warne or a Lara..

Breakdown of nationality (or presumed nationality) of who's voted for whom is interesting. Most Australian posters have voted for Warne, but non-Australians seem evenly split, and there are at least 3 Aussie votes going to Murali by my figures. In previous polls on this the Aussie/non-Aussie split has more closely aligned with Warne/Murali's votes IIRC.
