Right decision, had to be out, couldn't understand why it wasn't given in the first place.
Thought it might have pitched outside leg, given how Devon Smith shuffled to leg immediately after it hit him. Exactly the type of decision the referral system is good for- borderline, but conclusive.

Because Sidey's useless when it swings.

Let's face it, whichever of Harmy or Jimmy would only be likely to take wickets with the new ball.
'Sidey' is yet to prove that he can take wickets when the ball is not swinging. Personally, at Anderon's best he is far far more lethal than Sidebottom would ever in his wildest imagination be close to.

England look like they are trying to use the same plans they used at Sarwan 5 years ago. Bowl full and on the pads and have him shuffle across to get an lbw.

I've never been a fan of Fred opening. I couldn't explain why he's less effective with the completely new ball, but it just seems that way. It strikes me as a nonsense if Harmy doesn't want to open, but if that is the case they might as well bowl Broad for a few at the start of the innings.
Personally, you would think that the 2 swing bowlers (Freddie swings the new ball occasionally) would be the right option especially when you factor in that Freddie is less likely to waste the new ball with his on the money bowling as opposed to Harmison. However, it does appear as though, Flintoff has looked visibly more effective coming in first change than with the new ball.

The referrals do need to be speeded up. Once the umpire has seen all the information he needs to get on with it and make the decision.

Yeah I agree, you only need 2 replays (side on and front on) and if you cant tell from those 2 replays, you are never going to be able to tell. Its ridiculous that they use 10 replays before coming to a decision.

Hmm, first really controversial one. I think it's the right decision though, I thought "too high" in real time.
