Hmm yes, the "straw that broke the camel's back" hypothesis, there's a case for that. But of all the things he's done- turning up for training drunk, refusing to accept Ed Smith's captaincy, missing a team meeting and decking someone in a pub- this is the least serious IMO.Though unlike anyone else Symonds has already made plenty of mistakes, he is no youngster anymore who is trying to get himself adjusted with all the pros and cons of being a celebrity, but rather then doing that, he apologieses for it and promises to be stay out of trouble, but he just fails to do it.
As Gelman said its pretty mind-boggling why he would like to call someone a lump of ****, especially when there has been no provocation whatsoever from the other end, though its not the worst jibe out there but still its was in pretty poor form and completly unacceptable, i have been one of the biggest fans of Symonds as a cricketer, but he has made it a habit to get involved in one controversy after another and tbh i have had enough with him and his apologies.
It's a bit like when Shoaib smacked Asif with a bat and got nothing, then called a **** cricket board **** and got five years.
