The ODIs Arafat did play were disastrous though. On the other hand, he's pure quality up here in county cricket. Hopefully he's in the test side.

Isn't it time to finally drop Akhtar and Afridi? How long can they carry these passengers?

We are almost there. There is no love lost between Malik and Afridi-Akhtar and the more Malik keeps on performing and the more these two keep on failing the stronger will be Malik's position.

They need to build a new team around Malik, Misbah and Gul and clear out the old guard.

Misbah = Pak's Hussey. Selector stupidity kept him out for ages.

I believe the pace bowling backup is quite good so we should not waste our time on Shoaib, Rao and Tanvir. Akmal needs to be shown the door there are enough able replacements for him ,the only area I am concerned about is the spinners as there seems to be no one who could challenge Kanera.

It may already be too late, but what's wrong with Imran Tahir? His FC and List A records are every bit as good as Kaneria's, and he's not so horribly out of form.

Not very highly rated in the Pakistani domestic circles and rightly so, his performance was quite meh! in the time he played.

kinda harresh on afridi i think.. he bowled really well yesterday and if it weren't for the drop catch .. he would end up with a wicket..

also in the first game a couple of catches were droped on his bowling also.. so he would end up with a couple of wickets yesterday as well.. i mean a bowler can't do much if there is no support from fielders.. i mean if your wicket keeper drops catches constitently, it won't help the moral of the bowlers..or other fielders..

Kandamby actually looked like he can score runs unlike Mubarak or Tharanga. But early to judge him. Kulaskera did the job today got early wickets he has been a massive improver thought he will be another pie chucker but he is by far Sri Lanka's best one day "Pace" bowler

TBH i am really surprised by his effectiveness. He doesn't impress me that much when I watch him bowl, yet for the last year he averages 20, eco. of 4.25, and a strike rate of 28.

yup me too when i first saw Kula bowl at 120 mediums i thought here we go another pretender but he has got some big wickets and he has been accurate most times he bowls. He is solid not spectacular

No expert on PAK issues, but I can understand call for Shoaib & Afridi to be dropped (although i reckon if PAK want they could play him as the main spinner).

But why Tanvir?? seems a real talented swing bowler & Rao nothing fantastic yea, but from what i've seen of him looks a solid work-horse. Always good to have those types of bowlers around..

Although i havent seen the matches but by the looks of it and from what my friends have told me, i think there are some serious issues regarding shoaib akhtars fitness and commitment to the team. When a player is not committed than you cannot afford to have him in a team, thats as simple as that. Afridi should be dropped immediately and should be replaced with someone like fawad alam, who by the looks of it is a good batsman and can also bowl.
