I have loved Kulasekara from the moment I saw him. He bowls the most immaculate line and length.
Yeah. Surprising considering his build. He gets reasonably good pace and bounce on wickets assisting, and knows his limits and plays within them. I think Kulasekara-Mendis will be the next Vaas-Murali.

Mahela has got 100 runs exact in last 12 ODIs. He would have been really at the receiving end of a lot of criticism had a chunk of those ODIs been against top quality teams.

Damnnnnn, i haven't seen the first two ODI's. But the Kulasekara i have seen in the past looked extremely mediocre. No offense but you sure you aren't over-exaggerating his performances a tad?, if not it is what it is...

I can see them being the next Vaas-Murali, neither are half as good though but unless Malinga comes back they're the best Sri Lanka will have.

He has improved a lot since he came into the International scene. His best strength is that he bowls within himself and has got a knack of taking wickets. This is from the ODI perspective. In tests he has to go some distance before eliciting comparison to Vaas.

As bad as this run is, it is not as bad the one he went through during the 03 WC.

I didn’t know Arafat was in the squad, should definitely be in the side not only because his a fine new ball bowler and decent death merchant but he can bat and his fielding is pretty good. Tanvir if the ball is swinging is a dangerous customer but at home if the ball isn’t doing anything he could be rendered to a mere novelty act. Though, he did bowl an absolute beaut to get Maharoof yesterday, leg-break slower ball, back-of-the hand, done like a kipper into leg-stump.

I also used to critisize him heavity, on Sri Lankan forums, but he has made me to eat my words. I still believe he's not International quality. but he keep proving me wrong with each performances. Whn somebody does better than Murali in last year that player should have been doing something really good. And that's what Kulasekara has been doing in last one or two years

I mean ffs what the hell is wrong with Pakistan cricket, i mean what are they trying to achieve with Akthar, the guy plays two games every year, and then he is either struck by controversy, injury or now as is the case his own captain is demanding his ouster.

Now why can't they just decide for once whether they want him or not, why waste his and everyone' time by getting him into the team and then going over with all that familiar process of dumping him for one reason or the other, if there is any other better option than Akthar currently in Pakistan then give him a chance, but if there isn't then give Akthar a decent run before start talking nonsense like this, it seems like Malik was expecting miracles from a guy who hasn't played international cricket for a long time, and since that hasn't happened he is obviously pissed.

Was just reading the chapter about PCB and Pakistani cricket in general in Wasim's autobiography (written in 1998) and saddened me how little has changed.

BTW, how did Akhtar bowl for those who watched?

Kulasekara's definitely a little bit quicker than he was a few years back; it's helped him. He's never going to be in Vaas's class but he can certainly do a job in international cricket.

Oh dear Faisal Iqbal just scored a 200* today, with Miandad in PCB setup and Pakistan needing a replacement for Mo Yo the signs look ominous for his majectic return in to the side.

Didn't he say that he wasn't going to play for Pakistan until Malik stands down as captain?

This. Looks a proper plodder for me.

Not really, he's always had the same pace. In my opinion, his somewhat success is largely due to a combination of under-estimation and late movement that he tends to generate in most wickets. He has a persistent line and length which helps him a bit but he rarely swings the ball. Still prefer Malinga to replace him though.

They are a bunch of drama queens . To be fair ,Indians are not far behind.Subcontinental people are so sensitive about cricket .The press love to make every issue a huge matter .

Like Sehwag's opinions about Chappel .Quite unnecessary at this point of time .

Politically what shoaib Malik did was incorrect . As a captain he shouldn't have made such public statements about his player .
