McGain was named in the 12 for Saturday's 20/20.
Oh excellent. I figured with Hussey and White in the ODI side, he might be in with a chance, I look forward to seeing him against NSW.

Haha, nah. Pietersz played at Camberwell Magpies (my club) until last season, when he had to move interstate for work. He's played probably three or four 2nd XI games for Victoria before that, and was always a fantastic District bowler. Probably 31 or so now.

He's living in Launceston, and playing his cricket up there in the Launceston league; he couldn't be bothered going down to Hobart for training, playing etc. But he's been going that well, he got a call-up out of the blue.

But basically, everyone's thrilled because he's one of the best blokes ever. Talking to guys from other clubs, they used to refer to him as the best bloke in district cricket, and instead of planning for him at team meetings, they'd just tell all the young guys to make sure they have a chat to him after the game.
That's excellent. I hope he jags a spot in the state team someday.

Strange that Justin Coetzee played as a specialist batsman today for Western Australia against Queensland even though he batted at 8 and Umar Gul was fancied before him. He was opening the bowling only a few weeks against South Africa.

Awesome display by Carseldine once again and some serious hitting from Nathan Reardon. Although, WA were cack, missed a number of chances and wicket-keeper, Ronchi couldn't catch a cold.
Loving both Carseldine and Reardon's form. QLD are having a very good year in all 3 forms of the game. :)

They're absolutely on fire. It's a two-man batting team. Best thing that happened last night to Qld was Wade Townsend being dismissed - it cleared the way for the two big bashers!

Yeah but there doesn't seem to much else to right home about in case Reardon and Carseldine fail, other blokes would have to chip in too in order for the Bulls to win the T20 bash.

Because there's **** all else in the batting department.
True, but I think Cowan/Forrest/Khawaja would be of more use then yet another all-rounder. Although at least they're all young (apart from Thornely) and none of them are called Grant Lambert....

You know much about this Keen guy Chaminda?
Doesn't look that special, a bit of bowling all rounder from what I seen. Though his batting is coming along. I think he has done more with bat in NSW 2nds this season then with the ball. Jack would know more he played with him.

TBH I kind of forgot about him with the all spin bowling all rounders that came through last season from Aussie U19. If we do keep playing all these all rounder guy to the lack of quailty of specialist bats and seamers. Then having an extra seam bowling all rounder to go with Mosies.

Probably want the Vics to win this, to be honest they'll have a better chance to win it especially if we're not at full strength.

Pretty sure half the side will get signed up with the IPL anyway. Bird to chuck his way to a couple million.

Even when we set such a low score I was still slightly confident. Mainly due to Victoria selecting five specialist bowlers plus MacDonald. They could have played an extra batsmen or maybe two and backed Hogde to bowl some overs. Atleast when NSW don't select batsmen we select all rounders. Can't believe Mash scored a massive hundred (maybe a double) for 2nds and didn't get a game.
