Didn't think it looked out live imo. Came back in a long way. It wasn't until the replay that it was clearly hitting.
You're kidding yeah?I thought it was probably going down leg watching live
There was a particular crack that was in a perfect spot for Johnson that he was managing to hit regularly. That was making life very interesting for the lefties...Good job P.Siddle! Wasn't sure if the deck was helpful or not, but I did see Johnson moving it around a bit...
Dare ya.Pretty happy to take posting rights off anyone who suggested that Siddle shouldn't have been playing in Melbourne.
Siddle bowled well to the tail but they didn't seem too keen to get behind the ball after a few disconcertingly got up off the cracks. Morkel seemed to be bowled by the ball before which he took on the gloves.Dare ya.
In truth, if you were to pick the five least valuable wickets out the ten that fell, Siddle took them all. The in-form specialists- Smith, Amla, Kallis, De Villiers and Duminy- all fell to others.Siddle bowled well to the tail but they didn't seem too keen to get behind the ball after a few disconcertingly got up off the cracks. Yeah, was just mentioning this on MSN. He bowled well but it needs to be put into perspective. He got an out of form McKenzie, a slogging Boucher and 3 bowlers who can't really bat that well, on a deck that rivals a mid-90's WACA deck. It's no McGrath at Lords 2005 type spell. In truth, if you were to pick the five least valuable wickets out the ten that fell, Siddle took them all. Yes, that's a very measured comment indeed. We should not rush to judgement on Siddle, but rather put his performance today into some sort of context. That said, he's certainly improved as the series has go on, which is always a good sign.Yeah, was just mentioning this on MSN. He bowled well but it needs to be put into perspective. Not trying to insult him or anything, he certainly bowled well and tbf has bowled very well since Perth.
Yeah he hasn't been bad at all tbh, works up some excellent pace too. But even still, his 5-fer today most definitely needs qualifying. He's not the type of bowler I'd expect to see regularly run through sides in his current mould. He bowled one "bad" spell in Perth, when they tried to bounce out Kallis and he didn't get it high enough. Besides that, he's managed to build pressure and rarely leak runs, keeping the batsman playing a lot of the time. I think he plays a very good foil to Johnson, bowling quite stump to stump whilst the left armer slides across the batsman.
The one thing that makes me think that he is well equipped for Test cricket is that he's used to bowling on flat decks. MCG has been notoriously slow and flat over the past few years, and he's done well at Adelaide. He tends to grind his wickets out, and bowls to a team plan well. That's why I think he can be an important cog over the transition period.Yeah he hasn't been bad at all tbh, works up some excellent pace too. Mate, he's 24 and hardly played any cricketYeah he hasn't been bad at all tbh, works up some excellent pace too. But even still, his 5-fer today most definitely needs qualifying. He's not the type of bowler I'd expect to see regularly run through sides in his current mould.
1Mate, he's 24 and hardly played any cricket
The guy is quick, strong and accurate
An attack containing Siddle, Johnson and a fit Clark is potentially as potent as any pace attack in world cricket
If we could only find a spinner, things would really be on the improve
Can (sadly) confirm he's wrecked SA a couple of times in Adelaide.
