Only run out - dont know and see this term these days!

Run out - Smith = Direct hit from Smith
Run out - Smith / Jones / Brown = Smith threw it to Jones and he took the bails off
Saw a run out in the 2nd ODI between India and England just today. I think they said it was Samit Patel who caused it.

CW went down on my lunch break so I was a bit lost. I decided to email the ECB, which was all the rage here at CC a few months ago. I suggested that we invest in some overseas talent for the England side, singling out Virender Sehwag as someone who would be useful at the top.

Looking forwards to their response tbh.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/new...rleaders-but-without-the-skimpy-costumes.html

The Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) has called in the dancing girls to boost crowds and give the home side a little extra support.
But rather than decking the dancers out in American-style bikinis they are being given much more modest attire to wear.
They will be dressed in a full nine yards of silk cloth, the OCA has insisted.
Ashirbad Behera, secretary of the OCA and the organising force behind the cheerleading idea, told The Times: "This is the first time a one-day international will feature cheerleading girls.
"But I will not have them dressing up in short skirts, as it would be against our culture and traditions. Our audience won't accept it.

A better email may have been to ask what message England send by employing a coach that was heavily implicated in match fixing and is on the ICC 'watch list' and has to have his activities monitered.

Hi Martyn

Thanks for your email. No, not a good result.

Not sure we'd get away with that though!

Best wishes

I think Michael Clarke let one go last year that took his middle peg as well. Was up there with Lambos, but at least he didn't back away.

Yeah Clarke left it against Franklin in the World Cup I believe.

Anyway random comment, why do you only ever hear the "ball" part of the "no ball" call from umpires on the stump mics. Its quite irritating.

 I've always heard it either very distinct, or not at all.

Interesting thought I had while looking at cricinfo today. That the Lahore Badshahs ICL team could probably defeat the Pakistan national side in a head to head contest at the moment.
