I live a parochial existence, couldn't even tell you where anyone else in our league is in the table

BTW rose, Curzon isn't Dean's brother
Oh ok. Thought I'd seen that earlier in the thread. Not important enough to go look him up.
Erm, your own club springs to mind there. It's pretty much the only other top club in Europe where the manager has done such a good job over such a long time. Aside from that, look at lower clubs where the manager has had such relative success that he's effectively been given a job for life - Dario Gradi at Crewe and Guy Roux at Auxerre spring to mind.
Not to forget though that since Ferguson started winning he's not gone more than a season or two with out a trophy. About expectations of the club too. If you don't expect much and the manager surpasses that for a while and then just keeps the club level then that's understandable. That's why I said a top club. Arsenal are supposed to be winning trophies and challenging for the title. A club like Aston Villa or Everton is supposed to be ecstatic if they had Arsenal's achievements the last few years.

 - I'm gonna spare you here, as it's fair enough that you don't know but if I don't tell you then there could be carnage

Curzon Ashton is not a footballer, it is a non-league team, Exeter played them in the FA Cup today

All these would be valid points if you weren't some glory supporter moaning after a loss.
F*** me, put it all back in your pram.
Have thought it for a while and figured I'd just say it now despite the risk of it being perceived as a rant after losing. Can always predict Arsenal to finish lower than 2nd and to make a final once in a while and a few semis.

Seems like the Estádio Santiago Bernabéu was the place to be tonight. Seven goals, four of which were scored by Gonzalo Higuaín, eight bookings, three penalties and a sending-off. Insanity. Love it when games like that come along.

I see Exeter weren't the only ones to fall today, Blyth Spartans got past Shrewsbury, Histon beat Swindon
