Take solace in the fact that you're not heading for being reminded of this at least 480 times on Monday morning by 11 year olds.Well done Curzon Ashton, result of the day.
Humiliated as I am, wish you luck for the rest of your FA cup run. Sounds like they wanted it more.
Off to a darkened room, where I can sob uncontrollably.
F*** me, put it all back in your pram. That was in the past. Nothing won for four years and not likely to win anything except maybe the Carling Cup this year. That side that went unbeaten has only two remnants now and I don't think Fabregas played much if at all then. To be considered is that none of the other top teams were much to write home about that season. Pretty sure that was before he started bringing in players on the cheap as that team was filled with experienced players who were bought at market price during that time. It's only been since Chelsea had Abramovich that Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd have started paying lots of money for players.
The league has certainly improved in quality of players since then so a lot harder for teams to go unbeaten. Not to mention that the top teams are much better now than they were then. Well done by Arsenal that season as they took advatage of the situation and were a great team then.
Wenger definitely is a great manager and lots of chairmen would love to have him. No one should have a job for life though and be devoid of criticism. Fergsuon has achieved much more than Wenger and has his fair share of criticism, some of it well deserved as is some of the criticism Wenger and Arsenal have received.
The Arsenal team out there today was much different than the Arsenal team of most of this season so obviously the criticism helped.. Otherwise they would have been as soft and fragile as they have been before. That being said Man Utd almost did the same to them as Tottenham did as they were the same in the last few minutes and were lucky not to drop two points again.
Again, "Any club chairman who wouldn't give him a job for life would be a fool", is a ridiculous statement. At which other top club is the manager guaranteed a job for life? At which other top club is the manager not to be criticised? At which other top club is the managed assured of his job even if he wins nothing for years on end?
Erm, your own club springs to mind there. It's pretty much the only other top club in Europe where the manager has done such a good job over such a long time. Aside from that, look at lower clubs where the manager has had such relative success that he's effectively been given a job for life - Dario Gradi at Crewe and Guy Roux at Auxerre spring to mind.Again, "Any club chairman who wouldn't give him a job for life would be a fool", is a ridiculous statement. Crewe are *****, that's all, Dario Gradi can GAGF
Now that is real mateship that is
Can't wait till we get relegated again. Looking forward to the lower leagues, almost exclusively because I'll be able to exchange relevant banter with you if we end up in the same league.
Haha, Westwood. He's a ****, but we love him.Possible that we'll go up this season tbf, though no more than possible
Always had a good crack with some of the Pompey lot, that bloke with the bell and bugle used to **** us off no end though, it'd be a dire midweek game without 4 Pompey fans, and 5000 cold, pissed off and quiet Tranmere fans and he'd be standing on the old Kop ringing his bell
It's easier to get bored of Premiership football than you think. Now that is real mateship that is
Not after two seasons it's notIt's easier to get bored of Premiership football than you think.
