So how good is this Jay Simpson?
He did well but Vela impressed more for me last night. Simpson kept his cool for the first goal although Kirkland could have done better, but the second one was down to Vela's composure and unselfishness - all Simpson had to do was hit the target. And then Vela's finish for the third goal was sublime... Kieran Gibbs impressed me a lot last night as well.

Special mention for Fabianski - his save from Zaki at the death last night was phenomenal. As good as a fourth goal.

Kirkland had already pulled off a load of good saves and crocked himself by the time Arsenal scored their first. That save from the free-kick was top drawer.

Not a lot of use in the Mickey Mouse Cup unfortunately, still, quite funny.
Oh, it's very funny, Ade Akinbiyi equalising and the multi-millionaires losing at home to Burnley. Rubbish comp that it may be, that would of been amusing in a pre-season friendly.

Yeah agreed, first goal aside where he should have been off his line quicker (although fair enough if he was injured - couldn't see that he was from where I was sitting but might have missed it) Kirkland had a blinder.

Drogba getting done for throwing a coin back into the crowd.. Can't say he's any more in the wrong than the loon who threw it at him though
