Useful knock at the end from Dexter to get Middlesex to a half-decent total. Still backing the T&T boys tho.

He any relation to Lord Ted, btw?
Dexter's a Kolpak IIRC, so it's doubtful.
Probably then, but IIRC Compton's (largely arse) grandson is SA born, so not totally beyond possibility.
Nick Compton's SAfrican-born to a British (or at least largely British) family; Dexter is SAfrican through and through and (like Stephen Moore) only came to the UK to go to university but appears to have decided he likes it more over here than back home so has attained a British passport.

Thoroughly depressing non-English look about the Middlesex top 7 it must be said.

:p

Wash your mouth out with soup & water, young man.
Sorry BB, I must have been smoking crack or something last night, either that or confused

Harmison and Swann chosen to replace Sidebottom and Anderson. So I guess that Harmison and Broad will open the bowling.

Yet another reason to love "Grubby" Allen:

Stanford apology to England stars

Sir Allen Stanford has apologised for his part in an incident that upset the England players during their Super Series win against Middlesex on Sunday.
The series' backer was pictured sitting among the players' partners, with Matt Prior's wife Emily on his lap.
"He understood that the players were not particularly pleased with the incident," said a Stanford spokesman.
"He called both Kevin Pietersen and Matt Prior personally and they have accepted his apology."
The incident, which involved the 58-year-old putting his arms around some of the women, was shown on the big screen at the Stanford Stadium and televised. A number of England players, in the field at the time, found the episode inappropriate. Stuart Broad, who was bowling at the time, said: "There were a few gobsmacked faces when it popped up on the big screen."
Urgh, so creepy. I'd have kneed him in the balls.

Urgh, so creepy.
Yeah, you'd think so wouldn't you.

This picture

makes it look like they're all finding it far from creepy though.

This whole episode is truly bizarre. All I can say is episodes like that are one of the rare occasions I think "I'm glad I'm not an England cricketer". Can't imagine what my reaction would be if my fiancee was involved in something like the above.

Matt Prior to be the newest addition to the "ban WAGs from tours" lobby.

I don't have a huge issue with him sitting near them and getting a photo with them by his side even though it is a tad creepy, but Matt Prior's partner should definitely not be on his lap. I'd be fuming if I was Prior.

Yeah, I mean - say that's my fiancee in the "VIP enclosure". I wouldn't particularly mind him having his arm around a couple of them, sheesh, people do that all the time. But having Emma Prior on his lap is poor form and gives the whole thing a totally different air. Apparently she's pregnant too.

And I just don't understand what he thought he was playing at. He's got his own personal cameraman, he knew he'd be being telecast from time to time. An incident like that is bound to earn you bad publicity, which you'd imagine would be the last thing he'd want.

haha im sorry but i find it hard not to laugh at that. bit of a piss take really i do feel sorry for him i guess.

I imagine he probably could, but given Allen Stanford decided (quite rightly) than an apology was in order, it seems even he thinks he shouldn't have had to.

I mean, not saying Stanford was right and Prior (and whoever else) are rightly annoyed/upset by it all, but I don't think they could possibly bear too much of a grudge against Stanford as he is giving them the chance to win $1 000 000 or however much.
