Tait looked very mediocre when he turned up last time against us at Perth. Has he grown immensily since then to be a reverse swinging danger that too in INdian conditions?
I doubt it. The other Aussies got reverse swing in Australian conditions themselves. I think it's a case of his selection being mentioned as a possibility in the papers by people who are clueless.

Pick Tait against the South Africans later this year. He can be the one to make them fall like a deck of cards after they talk themselves up over the coming months.

Reading this article about Tait... I'm not sure what the selectors are supposed to do really. I mean... at what point is it about just giving someone a break, and at what point is is someone giving up their place in the team? I mean... what about other players who have been injured or feel down... should some of them consider having a break rather than soldiering on?

It's a difficult one.

You'd better sit down...I think I'm about to agree with you

Mishra certainly did a great job in this test and I doubt Kumble would have done any better if he was in the team. I only got to watch the highlights of Zed, Ishant etc bowling in the Australian second innings but they bowled some fantastic deliveries to dismiss some of our guys. Being a bowler myself I tend to enjoy watching good bowling regardless of who it is (although obviously if it could be Australia that'd be nice), and India have done a great job with the ball. As well as being not too dusty with the bat either.
it's was good to see Indian bowlers wrap it up .... and particularly heartening to see an Indian spinner take 5 wkts for so few in the first inning in a long time :)

and I m not at surprised at the way the Indian bowled as you can see from this

about Australian bowling, it would not be a bad idea to bring Krejza in at Delhi .... i know he is not highly rated but if there was a pitch where a decent spinner could be effective, it would probably be the Delhi pitch .... if the Australians won't play him at Delhi then I would question the usefulness of having him in the squad

Most of us questioned the usefulness of having him in the squad ages ago.

like 1863 :p

btw, this is one of the series where both the teams could be better of not playing their regular captains, i.e. Kumble and Ponting .... at least Kumble can, potentially, get something out at Delhi. don't know what Ponting will do on it to be honest

Shaun Tait had depression related issues, did he not? In Australia when things like this happen they often refer to Beyond Blue so people who feel the same way can get help.

Could've typed that better, but it's ****ing early.

Well Ponting is the best batsman in the world, so to drop him after he scored a century in the first test...

after that lucky 100, he has gone back to his old ways in India and his captaincy hasn't been spot on from what I have read

on the other hand, there is a lot for him to look forward to at Delhi as if he fails there with Australia losing the game then his hopes of improving his record in India would be dashed as the game at Nagpur will become inconsequential and no matter what he does there, it will not mean much

you want australia to leave their best batsmen out of the team for the next test?

i've seen several one-eyed indian supporters on this forum over the years but you definitely take the cake

according to you, several Indian fans are one-eyed and I take the cake but what is that suppose to mean to me or add to this discussion? *wondering*

appears as if you have a Pakistani background :p

it's entirely in keeping with the state of this thread.

edit: and do you really want me to spell out why blindingly partisan support is annoying?

no its not

I m supporting my team and follow cricket for it. i don't think why anyone should have problems with it .... and I did mention that both teams could do without both their regular captains so where does blindingly partisan come into this

talking about one-eyedness, it's you who totally missed I m talking about both captains and focused on Ponting because he is the Australian captain. the one-eyedness is in your mind where you think that being an Indian fan, I can probably comment on Kumble [one of the great bowlers] but not on other team's captain

what next? an Indian fan coming and telling me that how can we drop someone with 600+ wickets and with a great record at Delhi and that I must be one-eyed for my support for youngsters

it's a shame that ppl like you think that you even have it in you to judge others. but it's no surprise because empty vessels make the most noise .... at least first understand whats being implied
