Dhoni is not a specialist batter like Laxman. Dhoni plays attacking. If Dhoni falls, we have Tendulkar and Laxman left to handle the inning.

Well Said. It is sad to see people fail to recognize Dhoni's contribution into this game for reasons best known to them. The way pitch was behaving and considering how deep Aussie team bats, it was a very good move.

Winning by this record margin on this kind of track, Full Credit to Dhoni's captaincy. In one week India are a completely transformed side. We should just take a look at what was said about the Indian team during and after the first test and read what is being said now.

It has a lot to do with how Dhoni led India in the Mohali test.

There is nothing quite like a close, exciting Test series, in all of sports. Month and more of pure excitement and buildup. Individually, I love some other sports almost as much as a cricket match. But a whole Test series simply blows everything else out of the water.

The limited overs brigade will never get it.


I am hoping for a better crowd at Delhi though. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would goto a cricket match in India - the spectators are treated like crap, and no one does anything for them. Sitting in substandard facilities in 90 degree weather in uncomfortable plastic chairs and overflowing toilets, and after going through an hour and half of security and two hours of lines is absolutely ridiculous.

With that said, cricket in India just isn't the same if the crowds aren't there. I hope some brave souls do end up going.

In the results so far? It's clearly Australia's bowling. Australia's attack in '04 was superb and pretty much dominated for the entire series. Gillespie had his last great series with the ball, and McGrath and Warne were the same bowlers as always. Australia only got into bad situations when the batting failed in '04, and the bowling generally bailed the team out. There's no bowlers in common this time around, Lee's had a bad run and Clark has been injured, depriving Australia of it's two best bowlers, and it shows.

It does beg the question though, with the benefit of hindsight obviously, that whether the tactics were the main reason they were able to bowl well to India in 2004.. They had a great bowling line up in very good form coming into the series, India's batting form was rather non-existent then and they won a couple of good tosses and also got a very good track favouring them in Nagpur...


I do believe that the tactics played their part, but now, I am more inclined to think that had they gone in with normal field settings, even then they would have got India out cheaply given the good form and class of their bowling and the bad form of our batting at that time.

India just beat England IN England. I want to play SA again, I think that Ahemdabad pitch was an abberation, and I'd back India to do well in South Africa as well, better than last time. India just got Mendised in SL, and we'll see how that goes.

Agree about his strokeplay, but he did look rather angry and agitated, didn't he? Looked like he was about to erupt at any time.. Guess finally someone said the things that pushes his buttons.. He and some other Aussies have done it to some oppoent batsmen in the past, and they are just getting a bit of their own medicine now, I guess.


Not that I feel it is good. But at least the line is being drawn. I am genuinely happy that Zak has pleaded guilty to his charges at the first opportunity and has issued what seems to be an honest regret (at least from the outside). He is at his best when he is responding to such behaviour not when he is initiating it. Just look at the Jellygate and compare it to the 2003 WC finals or the 2003 triseries in India finals...

Krejza in would e a gift from above from an Indian pov. Even if he were to play a role where he just spells the fast bowlers I think he's the type of guy our top order will get stuck into so it'll be a very expensive rest for the quicks.

There is always the possibility of us getting over confident and then getting owned by him though...



If there is one thing you don't write the Indian team off from, it is over confidence after a good win......
