Why go halves on it? The PS2 version has exactly the same features that the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions have. Sure the graphics won't be as great but Smackdown vs Raw games on the PS2 have always been visually stunning.
Well, I just figured it'd be good to play an SvR game on a next-gen console for a change. Plus, I heard you could upload your own music for CAWs on the 360 version, but that's only a minor detail. Will almost certainly get the PS2 version.

SmackDown thoughts:

- Like that they're putting over the fact that if Big Show punches you, he'll knock you the **** out. Makes sense.
- Love Kozlov's music. Love everything about the guy, actually - he's a classic, old-school "foreign heel", he plays up to it brilliantly and his in-ring style is entertainingly stiff.
- Brie Bella will not interest me at all until they ackowledge the fact that she has a twin sister. The twins thing is really intriguing, but her on her own is just dull. She can't wrestle very well and her character is really generic.
- The R-Truth and Funaki skit was genius. Funaki's wacky charm was good enough, but Truth marking out for his "real name" being Kung Fu Naki was hilarious, as well as the song he made up. It wasn't exactly high-brow, but The Rock used to make jokes like that and people loved it.
- STAND BACK, there's a Hurricane comin' through!
- Not liking the fact that they mentioned MVP being "one win away" from a big wage bonus. Means he probably won't win again for a while.
- Man, J.R. annoys me. Apparently Jeff "literally threw caution to the wind" during his match against MVP. How is that possible?! STOP USING THE WORD LITERALLY FOR THINGS THAT AREN'T LITERAL, you big barbecued idiot! :@
- This "Kizarny" guy looks weird as. Could be interesting, but I'm not quite sure what on Earth they're gonna do with him.
- The Khali Kiss Cam is gold. Mostly because of Runjin Singh, but the girl they chose this week definitely contributed. It was cruel, but they clearly chose the least attractive girl they could find. Khali's reaction was priceless.
- Triple H vs Big Show was alright. Big Show hitting the Kryptonite Krunch on H was a highlight.
- Marked out to see Triple H and Undertaker in the same ring again, even though H was on the mat at the time and 'Taker didn't so much as look at him. Can't wait for the day they do a stare-down between the two of them. That'll blow the roof off.
- Agree that Kozlov lost a bit of momentum, but I think to an extent it was necessary. To have him dominate H and Hardy the whole time for weeks on end and then not win the WWE Championship, or not even be in the match at Cyber Sunday, would make no sense. This way they at least put over the idea that there is a way to fight him off, and don't kill his momentum stone dead by not having him win at Cyber Sunday.

I think that's the main issue. People with "next-gen" consoles have no incentive to buy games because the functionality is basically the same as that of the PS2. Almost regretting my decision to get a 360 now, as every game I want/have now I could've gotten on my PS2. I really hope they start making more games specifically for Next-gen consoles otherwise I'd have wasted a solid $500 on my 360.
AWTA entirely, for these very reasons I will not be touching Smackdown vs RAW this year....unless someone is kind enough to buy it for me for whatever reason. I will probably avoid Fifa/PES for the same reasons.

Just finished watching TNA Bound For Glory. It was a really entertaining PPV, one of the best TNA have done in recent times. The PPV is worth watching just for Jeff Jarrett vs Kurt Angle. That was a phenomenal match with Jarrett having one of his best matches of his career. He didn't look rusty at all. Brilliant match.

Looks likely that Foley vs Angle will be happening somewhere along the line after Foley put Kurt in the mandible claw.

Got FIFA over the weekend and haven't been able to put the controller down ever since. Loving the "Be a pro mode" and have joined a 10v10 league with high school mates which is pretty hectic.

Will have to see if it stands the test of time once the novelty wears off but initial indications are awesome so far.

Been trying to find anything cricket related for the 360 but all I'm getting is Ponting 2007 which I really don't want to fork out reasonable dosh for. Anyone know if there's anything in the cricket genre on the horizon for the next gens?

Breaking news here, Lance Cade has been released by WWE.

This is really surprising news. They were giving him the push of a life time by aligning him with Jericho. I really don't know why they released him. Sure he wasn't the greatest worker or the best promo guy, but he had talent and working with Jericho and Michaels could've really been good for him.

Surprising decision to say the least by WWE. Only they know why they released him.

Reckon there must be quite a serious reason behind this tbh, they would not ordinarly release a superstar in his position completely out of the blue otherwise, esspecially after pinnings HBK about two weeks ago, reckon something has gone on behind the scenes tbh.

On a side note, has anyone ever used the EWR game? I only discovered it today, but it's like a really advanced version of the SD vs Raw GM mode...and free.....been playing it non stop this afternoon....

Cade being released is weird news. Really didn't expect that - expected the unnecessary beating Michaels laid on him last week to lead into a Cade/HBK feud, drawing on their history with one another.

Apparently he's been scheduled on the cards for upcoming house shows for quite some time now, so obviously this has come out of the blue - for guys like Paul London, who hasn't been seen in months, and Deuce, who was last seen jobbing to Santino in less than two minutes, to not yet have been released, but Cade to have been thrown aside means there must surely be a story behind this.

Rumour had it Cade used to be very vocal about HBK's teachings back at school - perhaps his mouth got him in deeper waters than he could handle?

Interesting reading the spoilers for Smackdown this week. I won't spoil the rest of the show, but it seems okay on paper.

But for next week, Triple H vs Undertaker has been announced for Smackdown. I think this will be the first time in about 6 years that these two have faced off in a match against each other. Very strange that they're giving this away on Smackdown and not PPV. It will make for some good TV though.

That is startling, reckon we'll see the Smackdown ratings at the highest they have been for a while then. But like you say.....weird that this is supposedly just going out on TV....I expect something may happen for the match to change, Kozlov interfereing and taking one of them out etc... This is a match that could make the E millions of dollars, why they would want to give it away for free is anyones guess.

If they go through with this, this is insane booking from the E. Far, far worse than going for Cena vs Batista at SummerSlam. This match is the one that millions of fans have been waiting for for a really long time, a match between two of the greatest of all-time. It deserves to main event a Big Four PPV, not an episode of SmackDown on MyNetworkTV.

Really annoyed by this TBH. The only saving grace that makes it likely that it won't go ahead is that Undertaker very rarely actually wrestles on SmackDown these days.

It's fun

Love to play older years from 1986 - 2001. IE keeping ECW or WCW alive
