BARNES OUT
I believe I made that joke a few months back.
It's not about learning things all the time. Walcott's just a kid, he could do with the odd rest every now and then.People are missing the point with Beckham coming on.
England had the game won - what exactly is anyone going to learn by bringing him on? Nothing.
Nah, endurance peaks at 30. Basic physiology.IMO, if ever there's a time when a player should be capable of playing 90 minutes it's when he's 18-19
I don't think it's a matter of him being capable of playing 90 minutes. Like you say, any footballer of that age is always going to be able to make it through the match. However, Walcott is playing football more often now than at any other point in his career - two matches a week with Arsenal, coupled with international appearances - and if he carries on going at full tilt for an entire season, he's in danger of burning out performance-wise, no matter how high his fitness level is.I don't care about the science of it . A footballer shouldn't need a rest when they are 19. Will probably get hammered for this, meh, don't give a ****.
Although i expect before the WC qualifiers end, Capello will realise that the duo can't work together. I am willing to tolerate Capello trying to work it out for himself because as a foreign coach, things & players in the English game may be new to him so along with Stevie G/Lamps being paired up, Defore being selected based on club form, Downing, Jenas, Upson & the dropping of Owen. Capello is obviously stating he doesn't care about the past everything starts fresh under him. Which I have no isse with ATM.Gerrard & Lampard play
Not Fab
A totally frivolous detail if I might say so.Capello trying to work it out for himself because as a foreign coach
