Dravid was shaping up for a really good innings there. Unfortunately Watson got the wicket, I really want him to fail, so Jaques comes into the side.

I've been reasonably impressed with Watson - good pace, very few freebies, bit of movement and a wicket

If his body is in shape to bowl 15-20 overs a day of that stuff, he'll be pretty handy

He got a massive stride in there. Should've saved him if the umpiring had been consistent.
Rauf is really bad umpire imo, he gives a lot of poor decision, in this game itself he has made three dire decisions till now.

This WAS a poor decision. Even in normal motion it did not look out. My instant reaction at the appeal was a loud , "Not out". There is nothing in the slow motion replays to show that the minimum Rauf could have done was to give Dravid the benefit of the doubt. If there was any case for doing so, this was it.

Except for hitting it
Meh, got the stride in which saved Katich and a couple of others in the Aussie innings. Terrible umpiring, not having referals is baffling for mine and will continue to be proven so throughout this series.

He's got it in him to be a decent 4th seaming option, yeah. Bloody big if tho, but.

Come on telly, show Dravid's wicket again, I missed it when I went for the papers.

Tbh, making such poor decisions is nothing new for Rauf.

Good to see Johnson showing just what a crap bowler he was predicted to be on India pitches.

Oh wait.....

I think most of the times those appeals were made at the end where Rudi was umpiring from, mind you Rudi himself has made a few shocking decision in his time, but he is nowhere near as dire as Rauf, it baffles me how he still is the part of the elite panel.

I must say, I never expected to wake up to this.

Think my missus must love winter, she gets to lie in both Saturday and Sunday if there's any decent cricket on :D

Gotta say that even as a Watson fan, I'm surprised at the quality of his bowling today. His line hasn't been the best but he's bowled a good length and been hard to get away, and he's looked pretty likely to take a wicket at any time, though much more so over the wicket to the right-handers. Didn't really expect him to reverse the ball noticably or bowl as cleverly as he has.

Also bowled a long spell in the heat and kept it together the whole time.

Was an iffy decision (not a terrible one, but I'd have given it not out), but wicket was well deserved by the bowler.

Gavaskar is missing from the commentary team today??
Had to be destroyed in a controlled explosion after the Dravid wicket.

Have now seen it. Not out for mine; too much guess work involved even if Hawkeye showed it clipping. Not the worst decision ever, but far happier to see those not given. Ponting got away with a very similar looking one on day one, but couldn't honestly swear if Rauf was the ump or not. Not that consistency across umpires should be too much to ask anyway, actually, but one's expectations have been lowered by experience.
