On the current table posted on cricinfo lanky are now 12 points behind Notts - what a surreal climax to the season this is!
http://content-www.cricinfo.com/countycricket2008/engine/series/319681.html?view=pointstableDoes anyone know if there is any sort of live league table available the mathematics is doing my head in
He was in a tricky position your announcer - given the season as a whole coupled with yesterday's play I think Merry Christmas, absurd as it may seem on one level, was a pretty good effortEr, yes ... I was at the Oval today in fact. I can't tell you how impressed I was. I was considering going tomorrow as well, the boys considerately settled that quandary for me.
As we were leaving the ground announcer wished us all a Merry Christmas.
Anyone else been reading the pre-season predictions? This is my favourite so far.TBH if it doesn't rain I think Lancashire or Yorkshire will win. If it does, title looks likely to go to Sussex and Surrey. Kent to do well. Somerset to go down (simple, their bowlings simply not good enough and Caddick's 39). Durham as a major title threat.
Not really, a win alone nets you 10 points more than a draw. Plus there's bonus points to complicate things further.I'm assuming that the table currently showing on Cricinfo includes bonus points from the current games, in which case, assuming the Durham and Somerset matches are both drawn, it'll be Notts on 178, Somerset on 170 and Durham 168 tonight. Realistically Notts will only need a draw in their last game won't they, but it still could go to any of those three.
Was always amazed he elected for retirement TBH. He wasn't that old and is now doing a Gooch, spectacularly. And a word about Tony Frost, who's just seen Warwickshire home against Leics. Last year he was working on the groundstaff at Edgbaston, this season he's top of the averages with 91.8. He's grrrrrrreat!
