Yes he has. When he played in the under 19 world cup, ICC asked for him to be sent for correction on his bowling action.

There is no way you can bowl the doosra and not have a 'problem' but Mr Gavaskar led technical committee has left enough loopholes for this to never be a real issue in the future.

Go ahead and bowl as you want :)
Didn't Gavaskar resign from that? And once it get clearance from the technical committee, means he is clear to play international cricket without any problem forever?

Hughes also seemed to have played a decent knock, second time around, this kid surely is making rapid strides, he could be Australia' next child prodigy after Clarke.
He didnt play well at all in the first innings. Out for 1 in 7 balls.

He was the boss when they framed the law.

Great to see North back in the runs. It was only a couple of years ago he was possibly in the reckoning for a test spot, but then was cruely cut down by the knee injury last year. Hope he has a corker domestic year!

Mohnish Parmar isn't really one to brag about. Very recently, he was called for chucking, even in a domestic match. Maybe his action has got sorted out (unfortunately, Neo seems more keen on showing reruns of ODIs) but we haven't seen it yet. Besides, he's not even among the top six spinners (Kumble, Harbhajan, Powar, Mishra, Karthik, Pawar) and hasn't done too much to be compared even with Chawla. That said, he can use this series to his advantage.

As for Chawla, not getting wickets on the last day was more than a bit disappointing. He's a more useful bowler, quite smart, and can also contribute more than a little without the ball- something we don't see much of in India's top bowlers bar Irfan. He started off decently, but this ending is a bit disappointing. A Test call-up may be a little distant, but a recall to ODIs shouldn't be far.

What can we conclude? For India A:
  • Kulkarni was stingy, but didn't take too many wickets.
  • Parmar had a rich haul of wickets, especially four in the first.
  • Chawla had a start but he struggled in the second innings, but scored a vital 66 at seven.
  • It was a good match for Kaif, who notched up yet another substantial (though sub-century) score. Though he's still tipped to make a Test comeback, an ODI recall won't be surprising.
  • The batsmen (maybe luckily) didn't have to bat too much in this match, so there was no real chance.
  • Vinay Kumar was a flop, with bat and ball.
  • Tyagi was a surprise in the second innings.
  • Badrinath bowled eight overs and got a wicket. Will we see Amit Mishra play as a third spinner? Not a bad idea...

-Never impressed me during the IPL, looked a total waste of space.
-I heard good things about him from the Chennai SuperKings staff before he got that injury. Disappointed I couldn't see him in the IPL but on the flipside his absence gave Gony a chance to show his talent.

Yes that video is the first time I have seen anything of Mohnish Parmar and the similarities with Murali are very well justified, in his action. Whether he can repeat the accuracy, variations and consistency, time will tell I suppose, but he appears to have started his first class career heading the right way.

Am pleased Katich was in the runs and he must surely be readying himself for a return to India later in the year with the national squad.

Obviously being English I have not had the chance to watch either Phil Hughes or George Bailey bat. Anyone have any footage of either, or fill me in on their styles please ?

North was also reported to be impressive in this game and must now be a different player to the one that struggled with Lancashire a couple of seasons back. Although everyone is entitled to a rough trot.

Three day games are a bit ****ty, I mean the only way one team can win is if the wicket is underprepared or the other side bats village, which is a wee bit hard in places such as India. I'm sure when South Africa A toured last year the games were four dayers.

Whatever it takes!!!

was about to say that.. 4 day games would make so much more sense...

I think this series has only one sole purpose, and that is to give CA and BCCI a chance to see how some of the test team contenders from their respective teams do against each other.

Obviously that's the case, but it would still be better if the games were 4 days rather than 3.

Yeah I couldn't work out how Vinay Kumar had such a good record once I had seen him bowl in the IPL, he looked like he bowls like me haha(+ a good few km/h) classic straight up and down the batsman know exactly what to expect. What's Tyagi like? bit quicker than Kulkarni? Bailey, North, Ronchi & Voges were all amongst Tyagi's victims in that match and that is quite impressive for a relatively inexperienced 20 year-old Indian quick..

Btw, what's wrong with Adam Voges, he has been rated pretty highly by Australian selectors for a while now, but this guy really struggles to string together a series of good performances, he seems to play one good knock, but after that its downhill for a while, if i am not wrong he did decently in county cricket recently, but Aussie selectors hardly count that, for me Voges comes across as a good talent, but he hardly seems to be consistent and he would never be able to break into the Aussie side like this, so needs to start stringing a few good performances this seasons, as time is running out for him.

This is may be true for CA but definitlely not true for BCCI..its already been mentioned that the performance in the Irani cup tie between Delhi and Rest of India will act as the main feed for the Test matches..so at best we are looking at a couple of spots, if at all for the Rest of India team from these 'A' matches from Indian POV.Regardless i'm sure none of the players from this Ind 'A' team will get into the test team..they might be invested in for the the future ofcourse.

Tyagi is tall right armer, who got those 4 wickets due to reverse swing if some of my friends are to be believed(unfortunately couldn't catch the 3rd days action).Have no clue about his speeds though..might be worth keeping an eye out for. These Aussie batsmen were no rookies.

Anyone from India know anything more about Tyagi?
