Mendis troubled Yuvraj again... Yuvraj should better learn how to play Mendis as early as possible

EDIT: Dhoni gone! SRL in to match... they will win now...

Pathetic from India. Spineless batting performance - we should treat each game as a live-game, not as a dead-rubber which can be pissed about in.

The bowling was promising but lacked intelligence. FFS, it is not hard to target the stumps and bowl yorkers against tailenders, is it? Thushara got about half his runs off wide balls outside the off stump or short deliveries - are either necessary whilst the field is out and you are bowling to a cross bat slogger? On that note, is it really wise to bowl Pathan, who bowls the ball too short too often and too wide too often against tailenders?!

Just as Zaheer began to show intelligence and maturity with the ball in the first few ODIs, we get the baffling 'round the wicket to the left hander' tactic which let the top order off the hook and allowed Sri Lanka to pull away and get ouf of the starting blocks. To paraphrase Take That: "Have some ****ing patience".

Heh, Yuvi really is Mendis' bitch isn't he?
Am quietly hoping the following eventuates, sometime in the future.

Griegy: Mendis bowling to Yuvraj Singh here..

Chappelli: There's more poking and groping on display here than by horny teens on Leavers

Pretty pathetic battting performance by India but that was to be expected. When we win a series with a game to, we always end up losing the final game.

A note for Badrinath fans, he proved to be quite the lucky charm. He played three games for India, India won all three. I don't know why they persisted with Yuvraj when continually gets utterly owned by Mendis when they had a decent opportunity to play Badrinath at number 3 or 4.

Yuvraj has to be one of my most disliked Indian cricketers ever. The way that his batting and fielding has deteriorated over the last few years has been nothing short of disgraceful.

His body language and presence on the field also indicates a lack of heart and an understanding that he'll always be in the ODI team. Where is the heart and passion when he's playing for India? Because I don't see any.

Not to mention he's one of the most arrogant cricketers in this Indian side and is more concerned with trivial matters rather than improving his game. There is a damn good reason why he hasn't been selected yet for test cricket.

He's simply a mediocre player at best who has somehow found his niche in ODI's, but can't survive a spell against a decent spinner or a world class fast bowler. A batting average of 36 in ODI's isn't that great anyway.

Man of the series should have been shared. 160 runs at 90+ SR and 8 wickets by Thushara had been neglected grossly by adjudicators

Hmm... so Yuvi was a fine ODI player and a flop test player ,now what ,a flop ODI player too . what a shocking decline of india's future middle order wall .

Post 20 20, fame has gone into his head, and he's heading nowhere with his lackadaiscal approach to test cricket. And post injury, he's become more of liability than asset on the field. And sometimes his attitude in the field is as if he is running the show. Needs a shock treatment.

Its not post 20:20. He has ALWAYS been like that. A big head has ben his problem from the very beginning. The worst is that it does not allow him to see when and where he needs to improve and that is hurting his career.

will an ODI squad like the one below make sense?

- Batting: Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gambhir, Raina, Badri, Rohit, Kohli
- WK: Dhoni, Saha
- Pacers: Zaheer, Munaf, Pathan, Praveen & Gony
- Spinners: Bhajji, Ojha and Chawla

Have we seen the last of Badrinath?
Probably yes, in this one-day side, for now. He's not suited for the lower middle-order but he won't get a position any higher, not with Raina, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Sharma and probably Kohli and maybe even Gambhir competing once Sehwag and Tendulkar return. However, his real strength, as demonstrated by that match-winning partnership with Dhoni, lies in test cricket and he has the perfect opportunity to seal the deal against Australia A. Yuvraj and Sharma being in poor form opens the door even further for Badrinath's test call-up - don't blow it son.
