New Cricket Trivia - 'SJS format'

People often forget what a torpid pace the game was played at in the 50s and 60s ... Ramadhin and Valentine in 1950 both went for just over 1.5 an over in the series; in the 1964 Manchester Test England's innings of 611 occupied 293 overs, of which 94 were maidens! All a far cry from today's 20Twenty influenced fare.

Dunno what this bowling record is though ... in the course of fifteen years he only took 35 wickets [link not working - removed], the last of them on my third birthday incidentally. No extraordinary analyses there.

best bowling is a 2fer which is what makes the achievement so odd!

Or he got at least one wicket in the largest number of innings, 30 I think but dont feel like going back and counting to get the exact number, and yet did not take more than two in any of them

I had actually looked at his bowling figures for both the innings in this score card while answering this quiz and yet missed the line at the bottom of the score card page

Who took two catches in an Ashes Test in his last season of first-class cricket - but later went on to play one-day internationals?
