Just turned TMS on at work and Pollock saying Harmison is bowling very well. True?
Yes. He is getting quite a bit of seam movement, some bounce and has got up to 89mph on one occasion. He is bowling with a very angled seam, one which I suspect may aid reverse swing, if the conditions remain dry for the duration of the innings (which I doubt). You may remember that throughout his career, he has been plagued by accusations that his front arm holds the key to his accuracy issues - well, it may have some effect, but he has comprehensively aimed toward second gully on some deliveries which have come out accurately, take from that what you will.

19 wickets at 49.37 and he has a seaming, bouncy track ahead of him - this should be do or die for him before other bowlers leap frog him.

Thought we might have taken one by now :(

How come there have been only 17 overs, have they gone off at all?

Broad on now after the unsuccessful opening salvo from Harmison.
haha, talk about sticking the knife in then he bowled very well, caused problems, had a close LBW, had a catch dropped and made everyone work for their runs.

Two delays in the first over though, tbf, with Smith getting hit... awkwardly, and Ambrose's injury.
Yeah amazing that, nasty blow for Smith then a very nasty whack for Ambrose within a couple of deliveries..

Broad finally struck for a few runs, 50 up. Smith and McKenzie make yet another. Wonder how many others have involved a dropped catch 1st ball?

He bowled better than normal, true, but he was too short as usual (hence the lbw being close rather than out) and the catch was off a rank poor delivery that should've been left. As I said, FFS, 1st ball of the match and you're playing a shot like that.

And he bowled bad deliveries often enough to end-up going for 3-an-over.

Nothing better when you drop a catch than to get another sharp one that you take shortly afterwards. Could tell Cook was just slightly pleased with that.
