Have to admire the way the yarps have approached batting in this series. If keeping your wicket intact means crawling along at 2.5 runs per over then they'll jolly well do it.

As my namesake said, Boje was far from a tailender. He wasn't an out-and-out batsman, but he was a genuine all-rounder.

Hard to say he deserved it, but it would have happened a lot sooner had any of the bowlers bowled on the stumps.

Never understood for the life of me why Boje did the nightwatchman job. He was really a bit too good for that.

I was certainly meaning purely cases of batsmen who weren't very good, whether they were in nightwatchmen slots or at ten\eleven, lasting longer than they should.

Haha, WoW, every single SA batsman to pass fifty so far this series has got a century.

Can't recall any dropped catches or other let-offs between 50 and 100 either, think they've all been merited.
