In that case, I would advise that your brace yourself for the deluge.
It's possible to manually override the autogenerated names. On some forums an Administrator will accept requests for a title and change it. It's even possible for an Administrator to enable an option whereby users can change their own title. On one forum I changed mine to Flora the Aromatic Sealion. Next day the Administrator removed the self-title option........not sure why?

is theri a list anywhere which has the names above the avatar which you can progress to?
Richard tried to compile one a while ago. I think he posted in Site discussion. You can search for members through post-count and kind of determine what title each thousandth post or so will bring.

IMRAN KHAN

V

KEITH MILLER

I'm voting in favour of Imran because:

  • Has better batting & bowling average
  • Took more wickets per match
  • Has much better strike rate
  • Has best ever peak period as an allrounder
  • Performed excellently under pressure of captaincy
  • Lasted for longer in international cricket
  • Has much more 5 & 10 wicket hauls

NOTE:Miller has the better economy rate

Miller for mine, but there really is pretty much nothing in it. It's purely personal preference.

These two are the best two genuinely rounded all-rounders since cricket dawned the 20th century for mine.

Didn't we have this thread some time back as well? Anyway it's Imran for me; he played against tougher and more varied opposition and while Miller's bowling average is impressive, he took only a bit more than 3 wickets per match which is ordinary. And while IIRC Miller was admired for his captaincy by his first-class players, it was Imran who achieved international success as captain.

Haha, that's interesting - so two polls have been merged? What happens if, hypothetically (surely it won't actually have happened...?), someone had voted for different options on different polls?

Or is the newer poll just removed? As I suppose you could merge two threads with poll options "Marcus Haberstrom" and "Haberstrom Marcus" and it'd not recognise that they were the same.

I might have made this comment earlier in the thread too - CBA to look - but at 37-39 it really does show how little there is between the two.

When I first looked at the thread before the merger the poll stood at 38-36.
