**Official** Australia in West Indies

I want West Indies to do well, but if they have someone like Andre Fletcher who cannot prove himself at the relatively low level of West Indian domestic cricket - what hope does he have to succeed against Australia. West Indies need to create academies for players to spend entire winters if they are unwilling to trust domestic statistics enough to give talents more than 5 games before selecting them.

On a more cheerful note, more ODI wickets for Bracken - he may go down as one of the all time great ODI bowlers if he continues such form for just two or three more years.
Not a case of unwilling to trust domestic stats. It's that they're mostly around the same level. Domestic season starts in the winter and club season's in the spring/summer here.

As has been said, so worth staying up. Was devo when Marsh went so early, but Watson was just immense. His play off his pads is just sublime. Look forward to another ton in the fourth.

Tbh, I still have some qualms about him facing the new cherry. But hopefully he just keeps on growing as a batsman.

Fell asleep during the break. Looking forward to the highlights of Australia's innings (WI innings aws).

Interesting that during the Tests I was able to stay up for the whole day's play no problems, especially as it was while I was studying for exams and I really couldn't afford to. However during the ODIs I haven't been able to last through one yet, often falling asleep during the break or earlier.

Reckon someone should do a youtube clip of Watto's century tbh. Looking at you Saggers, seeing as you seem to have recorded it?

Nah, just watched the replay on fox. Wouldn't have the cables or programs to be able to pull something like that off anyways.

Haha the Wonnaman!

When they interviewed his dad after the Melbourne win I had tears.

More-so because Brisbane losing cost me money, but I'm sure some of those tears were joy for Wonnaman and the Aboriginal community.

If there's another replay on in the next few days, I'll do it.
Just checked, there's a two hour replay at 7.30pm on Friday night on Fox Sports 1.
Top stuff.

Thoughts on bringing in Clark for Hopes or Johnson for the fourth? Don't think Hopes has been terribly bad this series despite his direness last night. Can keep it steady on slower pitches. He's not the long-term answer though.

Apparently, Benn, Pollard and Browne out. Miller, Findlay and Roach in. No probs. Findlay performed well last List-A season.

I don't see the benefit in playing Roach at this stage in his career, but I suppose two dead ODIs can't hurt. I rate Miller as a good intelligent bowler, but come on, how does he get selected ahead of Dave Mohammed? The man smokes Miller domestically, and has looked decent in his few ODIs. And the fact that he's freakin' Dave Mohammed! Must be injured...

I really doubt he'll play. Much like when he was drafted into the Test squad for one game, I think it's more about giving him some time with the squad and letting him know the selectors have their eye on him than anything else.

What's the status of Banks's deal with Somerset? Does it make him unavailable for the West Indies? I'd have thought he'd get picked over Fletcher and Findlay if not.

In a way it's refreshing to see that the selectors are refusing to pick Morton but it's probably a bit harsh in these circumstances. As dire as Test batsman as he is, he really hasn't been horrible in ODIs and he could add some experience to the middle order. Perhaps he's injured as well.

I think Fletcher played a nice little innings in the last game, largely because he had a license to thrill. Obviously it was a very brief innings, but he looked a lot better than he did before.

That said, I agree re: Morton. As much as I dislike him, he's done a decent job in ODIs, with an innings or two of quality against Australia too. Regarding Banks, I'm fairly certain he played for a County (Leics) before he debuted for West Indies, so I believe he has dual citizenship or something that allows him to play in England without any WI eligibility concerns. Not too clear on the specifics. Tbh, I prefer him spending a full season in England than taking time out to play 5 ODIs against Australia. It may sound strange, but I just feel that he will benefit more (long-term) from the former.

Think because of Banks' nationality, Anguilla IIRC, he can play in England. Don't think it's dual citizenship. Guess they're still a colony or something.
