Damn, the windies really need an academy of some sort they really can't afford to be picking players just on potentially and have them learning the trade @ the highest level. They are just continously going to mess their players up.

Just on the venues for this tour. Has it been the case for a while that St Kitts and Grenada are getting 2 ODIs, when test venues like Jamaica are missing out on ODIs? Likewise, I'd have thought there'd have been some Guyanese action on this tour, but apparently not.

Think because of Banks' nationality, Anguilla IIRC, he can play in England. Don't think it's dual citizenship. Guess they're still a colony or something.
Anguilla is still a British Overseas territory, yeah. A few years back people from Anguilla, Montserrat, the BVI and the rest of ther territories didn't count as full British citizens but the laws have been changed (after the Falklands War I think), so Banks qualifies as a British citizen. He's not playing THAT often for Somerset to be fair, and is playing Devon Premier League cricket for Budleigh Salterton.

Yeah, some family visiting Jamaica right now got in touch with me to ask if there was any cricket in the Australian tour coming up in Jamaica, but none of the ODIs are there. Found it somewhat surprising.

Courtesy of Smith, just watched a feature on Aaron Heal on FSN. Deadset couldn't believe what I was seeing. :D

Well based on years gone by I would presume the weather in Guyana at this time of year is kind of poor thats why they struggle to get a lot of matches most of time. Plus this is kind of an unsual to have a series on the windies going into July.

we have terrific back up players

Edit: its official, Clarke will captain
http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,23967167-23212,00.html

Clarke, who twice led his country in Twenty20 internationals last summer, will become the 18th player to skipper Australia in a one-day match at Warner Park in St Kitts with Victorian batsman David Hussey to make his limited-overs debut as Ponting's batting replacement.

The captain's omission is the only change to the XI from the team which claimed a series-clinching victory in Grenada on Sunday, with Stuart Clark and Cameron White again missing out.
Lee should be rested tbh

Who will bat at 3?

Marsh
Watson
Clarke*
David Hussey
Symonds
Hussey
Ronchi+
Hopes
Lee
Johnson
Bracken

Damn looking at that side - who would've thought a couple of years ago our ODI team could look like that
There's only about 5 household names there
and if we're talking about old old school...then there's only 2.5 (Lee Symo and maybe Clarke)

Seems they won't pick a spinner in a dead rubber, seems white has given ponting a public acclamation but behind his back will not bowl him and oush for him not to b selected.
Would have to say with pontings confidence level on white and the selectors,we will have to pick some one else,in the future.
Still slack white is sacked after 1 bowling effort.
Unless hopes bowls off spin i don't see why we are playing him,we already have an allrounder in watson.
I guess the future is symmonds and clarke will be our spinners in the future.
Sad tho if they keep on playing white and not picking him.
I blame ponting for this.
We have a real dilemma for the icc knockout trophy which makes spinners pitches.

I'm glad that Michael Clarke is captaining and not Mike Hussey, TBF. Hussey made some of the most ridiculous moves (i.e - bowling Cameron White, of all people, when New Zealand were on a roll).

Miller looks useful. Admittedly he's only bowled two overs but he seems fairly accurate and has showed some variation in pace. He turned a couple but I think something he can really work on is getting over the top of the ball more; he releases in more out the side of his hand than anything and as a result his seam position isn't what it could be.

Miller looking excellent so far. He was impressive this season, but I didn't expect him to settle in on debut with such confidence. Good signs.
