Is there any real shame in throwing FC. Fitness already taking a massive hit after just two weeks. Only chance I can reagularly win OD matches is GFI'ing as well. Also my so called depth that was meant to make me a decent FC side is just that so called. Way too relient on two batsmen and three bowlers (with no fitness). Time to play with my head not my heart. Bye, bye FC.
Or in my case, goodbye OD
You go for one or the other, I guess. That's why I promoted from FC III to FC II while going the other way in OD.
This season's all about survival in a tough FC II (is there any other kind?!) while preventing myself from falling into OD IV.
So, it's just as well that I managed a win today, after last week's heartbreaking 18-run defeat with all of 10 minutes' play left.
Yet again, got put in to bat by NorfolkENchange...and, yet again, got bowled out cheaply -- 153 in this case, on a cracked pitch with overcast conditions. Despite this, and a sunny second day, my bowlers managed to bowl him out for 137, a first innings lead of 16!
Second innings, with the sun shining, and I managed 197, so Freaky was chasing 213.
It was all going so well for him, at 95/1...but then John and Gibb got to work, and they collapsed to 147/10. Withington win!
Unfortunately, by bowlers are knackered...so it'll be at least two reserves pitched in tomorrow, for what will almost certainly be another OD defeat. Bothered? Not particularly.
