Whats the 411 on Collymore & Collins status over here with that kolpak situation. Did they abandon the windies to play for the counties or are the county boards bullying the WICB?. Since having Collins back instead of bowling would be perfect for them.
Collins is apparently unavailable for West Indies selection, effectively retiring from West Indies service when he became a Kolpak player. It's a shame, because he was in the Test squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka, but withdrew because of his Surrey commitment. He was by far the best seam bowler in the Carib Beer Cup this year and has been bowling very well for them since.

I'm not sure about the specifics of Collymore's situation, but he is a Kolpak player. If he has turned his back on West Indies, it's somewhat understandable, as he was the 9th (?) rated Test bowler in the world when he got injured and hasn't been considered since becoming fit again.
Word, that rough outside the left-handers off-stump helped him a bit, but he looks to have the raw stuff. But so did Hauritz in 04... the sooner AUS unleash a 4-prong seam attack the better.
He didn't look to have the variation or control to consistently trouble Test class batsmen. His control will almost certainly improve, but whether or not he will ever develop effective enough variations is a bigger question.

Just heard Chanders on radio. He said he bats with the tail like that to try and intstill confidence in them. Said they have ability and he allows them to try and make runs to build partnerships.

Also said that when he came into the team there were a lot of senior players. Now it's mostly young players. It was easier and quicker for him to learn with so much experience around but these guys take longer to learn.

About him being No. 2 he said, if you perform you go up the rankings. If you don't, you go down.

More boos for Ponting, and a dreadful reception for the umpires too. They look a bit sheepish and confused.

Boos ring out for Ponting! Poor old chap. "There's been some great Test cricket played, and West Indies...the way they attacked the run chase showed a lot of heart and character."

That quote is from Cricinfo. Must say I didn't think the reception Ponting got was that bad at all. Then again it was about 4 am here.

Out of interest, what's happened to Jermaine Lawson. I know his action was questioned but I thought it was cleared.

Meh, WI crowds these days just like booing everyone, tbh. Probably don't even know who they're booing half the time :p

It looked to pay off in the third Test. I think my call was right.

Twice questioned. Twice cleared. He's a Kolpak player for Leicestershire now, and as with Collymore, I'm not sure what that means for his West Indies status.

Man does the S Clark head wobble, as he's walking back to bowl, annoy everyone else as much as it does me? Fair dinkum, there's at least four of them between every ball. Can't be good from a marketing standpoint.

So... time for the proper cricket ;)

What do people reckon the Aussie T20 team going to be?

I'd go for:

Marsh
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
Symonds
Hussey (can't decide which!)
Haddin
Hopes
Bracken
Lee
Johnson

That leaves Clark (if Bracken isn't quite fit), the other Hussey and White on the sidelines. Not great bowling options in this squad, are there?

He reminds me of a Thunderbird puppet. I don't know why.

I never thought I'd write these words, however...

David Hussey is a must!
Yeah I kind of agree. I just couldn't decide who to leave out from the other batsmen. Personally think Clarke or Ponting, but their captaincy/vicecaptaincy presumable means they'll play. I guess Watson might have to sit out, as he wasn't originally in the squad. Would be a big shame though. Also, I really think they need another bowler.

Honestly, I'm really looking forward to this match just for the Watto/Marsh reason. If either don't play it'll be an absurdity of the highest order. Symonds won't play because of the back and they'll probably rest Ponting as well, also Lee.

Hopes
Marsh
Clarke
Watson
Hussey
Hussey
White
Haddin
Johnson
Bracken
Clark

From what I remember, Haddin's not the greatest T20 player and Clark isn't bad at the format either, though he does seem to have improved in the ODI arena as well in recent times. Not sure about Hopes though, a bit of a weak link. Might be better to have Clarke open and bump him down to 7/8.

He has a nervous twitch and I think that's part of it.
