Not all a big Scandinavian love-in, then?

Anyway, Russia are dire. Just puts into perspective how poor we've become.
we did batter them at home courtesy of heskey:blink: . and our loss against them in the luziky(sp?) was in a very hostile atmosphere on a dodgy plastic pitch and stupid mistakes by robinson(fat bastard) and rooney. nearly beat them didnt out play us

as i speak the swedes score again, good bloody dire greeks.

Well, Greece did try to attack a bit more in the second-half, I suggest they don't do that any more...

I actually thought the Russkis played okay, too. Better finishing and it may have been a different matter, score-wise. Wouldn't surprise me if they got out of this group with Spain based on the two matches today.

well the teams in group d bar spain dont look up to much so i think that the dutch(team im backing) needs to win the group which would be virtually a bye into the semi's where they would play spain or runner up of c.

Het Nederlandse zal alle anderen in hun kielwater verlaten

No, they outplayed us. The supposedly dodgy pitch had very little impact, you cannot use a "hostile environment" as any sort of excuse for a defaet, any team worth their salt will have to play in a hostile environment from time to time, its what football is. England were just poor that night, end of, to suggest otherwise is delusional.

Holding off Turkey in the last qualifying game in Istanbul before Euro 2004 was more hostile then the game in Moscow.

Indeed, that was probably the most aggressive atmosphere I can ever recall tbh, certainly in an international match. The ill feeling between both sets of fans and players going into that match was huge, credit to England in that match really, they were never in trouble and controlled the game.

Shows what difference a good coach can make.

A million dream team managers celebrate Chavnaldo's goal, no doubt. He's my captain.

Not to mention the dozen or so who tipped him for the first goal in our tipping comp.

If it keeps raining like this, it's going to be absolutelhy impossible to play football in the second half.
It's pretty bad now. Ball just totally dying when it hits the pitch. Reckon a rain-induced eff-up might just win this for someone.

If this wasn't in a tournament it'd be called off IMHO.

Ha. As I type ball stops dead in front of Yakin. Two yard open-goal.

I see my mate*, is linesman in the Austria-Poland match. So I shall be supporting him. Which will be novel for me, as I normally hate linesman more then Cornish Scum or Conservative politicians

* Well I haven't talked to him for about 15 years, but we used to sit next to each other in English, and I'm taking any vicarious fame I can get in these fallow times

The Hun still faves for me (as well as being my fave website), not sure about the defences of the Iberian duo, and the Dutch will contrive a way to **** it up for themselves.

Just looking at the tables...I'm pretty sure that if the Czechs and Turkey draw their next match, they'll have to have a penalty shootout at the end to decide who goes through. Could be pretty interesting.
